(302) etc., whatever object or affliction binds sentient beings to samsara, knowing the purity of that and that, one will be liberated from the bonds of affliction, because one knows the reality of things. If one does not know such purity, sentient beings will not be liberated from bondage. If one completely abandons the meditation on reality, one will not attain supreme and common accomplishments. Therefore, the objects to be purified, the aggregates, elements, sense bases, and afflictions are all pure as deities. The deities are pure as wisdom, and since wisdom is free from grasping and being grasped, in ultimate truth, the object of smell is not perceived, so it is a realm without odor; because there is no hearing, it is a realm without sound. Likewise, the nature of form itself is also non-existent, and the experience of taste and the object of taste, and the purity of the mind that grasps them, are also not established as inherent nature. Without a body, there is no touch. Without mind, dharma also does not exist, because everything is free from the aspect of truth, one and many, therefore it becomes pure. (303) Thus, for beings who are pure in nature and like illusions, knowing the nature of such beings thoroughly is called great purity. The definitive meaning of these is: knowing the purity of all knowable things, the fifteen yoginis, the nature of Āli, the three outer, inner, and other radiating and gathering, and the distinctions of all the base, path, and result should be understood. The name of the third chapter is: From Purity to the Ninth. It is said that the purity of the Tathāgatagarbha of ultimate truth and the purity of each deity of the generation stage of conventional truth are divided into two, and the purity of equal taste is explained, which is the explanation of the meaning of the ninth chapter. The tenth chapter is the chapter on empowerment. Regarding the connection of this chapter to the previous one: In order to meditate on the stages of generation and completion as explained, it is necessary for the continuum to be a suitable vessel, therefore, immediately after explaining the purity of the two stages, the rituals of empowerment that ripen the continuum are taught. Regarding the connection between what is explained and what explains: (304) In the first chapter, it was briefly explained that "as the cause of accomplishment," that is, the cause of manifesting the path is empowerment, and this chapter explains it in detail. The content explained is to ripen what is not yet ripe.

These are the classifications of empowerment. These are the texts of this very chapter that express the meaning. Actualization is the order of the basis of the path, and the stages of generation and completion are also related because they are in accordance with the meaning of empowerment. The hidden connection is: washing away the stains of conceptual thoughts of grasping at characteristics, and establishing the innate power of the fruit free from obscurations. The purpose is that through empowerment, one becomes a teacher who listens to the lineage, practices the path, and guides others. This has three parts: the connecting passage, the actual text of the chapter, and the commentary on the chapter. The first is: from "Then" to "will be explained." It is said that after the pure has been spoken, from the beginning of the order of the teacher's activities, how the order of the mandala rituals, etc., will also be thoroughly and correctly explained without error. And in what way the ritual of empowering the disciple will also be most clearly and thoroughly explained.
