From the web of Uḍḍiyāna, it says: "Having known this profound tantric ritual of all of these, the hero attained immeasurable omniscience at the foot of the Bodhi tree." Like that. The extensive manner of being particularly superior is inexhaustible even if spoken of for eons. Third, regarding ascertaining the manner of being the fruit, there are three: being established as the fruit in dependence on being swift in time, being established as the fruit due to becoming the supreme means, and being established as the fruit by making what is similar to the fruit into the path. The first is that whatever means swiftly attains enlightenment is established as the fruit. For example, just as a sharp weapon quickly cuts wood, it is said, "This cuts wood," but if a dull one slowly saws, even if it cuts, it is labeled, "This does not cut." Similarly, since enlightenment, which cannot be attained for a long time by the vehicle of characteristics, is attained in the mantra in one lifetime and so forth, it is also called the fruit vehicle from the perspective of the length of time. That is, it is taught that it is attained in one lifetime with great diligence. As the Saṃpuṭī says: " বহুকল্পকোটীভিঃ। তস্মাৎ ফলযানমুচ্যতে (Sanskrit Devanagari, bahukalpakotībhiḥ yadduṣkaraṃ buddhatvaṃ ihaiva janmani dadāti tasmāt phalayānamucyate, Sanskrit Romanization, bahukalpakotibhih yad दुष्करं buddhatvam ihai'va janmani dadati tasmat phalayanam ucyate, Literal Chinese meaning: বহুकल्पकोटिभिः。 The Buddhahood that is difficult to accomplish, is given in this very life, therefore it is called the fruit vehicle.)" And as the Buddha Equal Union says: "Through countless billions of eons, the actual Buddha is not attained, through the ritual of secret mantra in this life, it will be attained in this very life." Like that. Liberation in the bardo with medium diligence is as the Four Seats of Vajra says: "From above the nine apertures, if one immediately transfers with the mind, killing brahmins daily, committing the five inexpiable sins, enjoying the actions of thieves and robbers, one will be liberated by this path, and will not be stained by sins." Like that. The Mañjuśrī Oral Instruction says: "Even if this body of aggregates with form is not accomplished in this very life, since the mind has accomplished the vajra body, it will be truly accomplished in the bardo." Like that. The Lamrim says: "The yogi of medium diligence, leaves behind the remaining body of ripening, and goes with awareness to the place of Vajradhara, that is called ripening." Like that. The Drop of Wisdom says: "Or as soon as this body is abandoned, the body of unsurpassed wisdom, is accomplished even without diligence, what need is there to mention if one has diligence?" Like that. The best of the lowest faculties are liberated in the next life.

From the 'Praise of Names': 'The Lord who walks immediately after birth.' And from the 'Buddha's Crown Tantra': 'Therefore, the wise yogi, with a mind of great diligence, even if they do not attain accomplishment in this life, will attain accomplishment in future existences.' Thus it is. The lowest of the middling ones are liberated in seven lifetimes. In the 'Secret Treasury' it says: 'If one possesses perfect empowerment and generosity, one will receive empowerment in life after life. Therefore, in seven lifetimes, even without meditation, one will attain accomplishment.' Thus it is. Even the lowest of the lowest attain accomplishment in sixteen lifetimes. In the 'Vajra Peak' it says: 'That which is not attained by the Paramita Vehicle in countless eons, if that yogi strives, they will pass into nirvana in this very life. Or, by merely seeing, they will pass into nirvana in sixteen lifetimes. An ordinary being, a Buddha, will surely attain accomplishment, not elsewhere.' Thus it is said. Secondly, establishing the result through supreme means is like this: the work that one person strives for seven days to accomplish, another person accomplishes in an instant through skillful means. Although the effort of these two actions differs in magnitude, their essence is the same. Similarly, the Shì-Lhág (止观,calm abiding and special insight) that is accomplished through great effort of mind in the characteristics, which cannot be accomplished in years and months, is accomplished after a long time, and then abiding in equipoise, and so on. However, in the Mantrayana path, in just one day, the experiences that arise from the key points of the body and channels can be truly determined. Therefore, it is established as taking the result as the path. In the 'Lotus Peak' it says: 'That which is extremely difficult to accomplish, because of the true union in an instant, without relying on previous causes, because the result arises from the key points, it is called the Result Vehicle.' Thus it is. Thirdly, establishing the result as the path by making the result the same as oneself, when the Buddha is free from all defilements, the form and wisdom are inseparable, and the qualities of the field are manifested in complete perfection, meditating on something similar to that. Because of the power of clearing away the defilements that are present in the expanse, it is called the Result Vehicle because it makes it manifest. In that same text it says: 'The nature of the stainless expanse, possessing the three bodies, wisdom, and pure lands, when that is purified, it manifests as self-luminous, and making that which is the same as the path, is truly called the Result Vehicle.'
