It is superior to the land and the thirteen Vajra Holders, etc. The Guhyagarbha Tantra says, "There are thirteen distinctions of the land." Thus it is said. In terms of time, from the perspective of characteristics, it cannot be accomplished by three countless kalpas, etc. By diligently practicing mantra and keeping vows pure, it can be accomplished in this lifetime. The Prophecy of Intent says, "In extremely countless kalpas, what the Buddhas know, mantra practitioners, in a single moment, attain complete enlightenment in one lifetime." Thus it is said. In terms of enjoyment, also from the perspective of characteristics, one practices by abandoning desirable qualities. Mantra itself acts as a companion. The Vajra Arrangement says, "Having abandoned what, the five desirable qualities of enjoyment become wondrous? Mantra with skillful means is the best companion. Those with fortune should make excellent use of it." Thus it is said. In terms of yoga, from the perspective of characteristics, one meditates on non-objective samadhi, emptiness like the sky. In the post-meditation state, one uses the yoga of illusion as the path. Mantra uses the yoga of indivisibility and inconceivability as the path, thus it is superior. In terms of accomplishing the benefit of oneself and others, from the perspective of characteristics, there is only a slight benefit temporarily, and great benefit cannot be accomplished. In mantra, one pacifies famine by causing rain to fall, and accomplished yogis cause rain of food, drink, jewels, etc. Pacifying disease and conflict, etc., auspiciousness only within a local area is benefiting others. With the inconceivable two stages, even each moment of inner realization and samadhi increases from higher to higher, which is benefiting oneself, therefore it is superior. In terms of view, from the perspective of characteristics, it is only the vehicle of cause, and nothing else is known. In mantra, one ascertains the profound secret of the result. The Vajra Peak says, "The characteristic of all mantras is the mind of all Buddhas. It accomplishes the essence of Dharma, and is perfectly endowed with the realm of Dharma." Thus it is said. Without difficult practices, one abandons the extreme of hardship. Because one accomplishes great results with little effort, it is also superior to characteristics. As previously stated, "Many skillful means and no difficult practices." Similarly. In terms of the distinction of accumulating merit, from the perspective of characteristics, there are only common accumulations of merit such as generosity, and the six perfections such as discipline. There is nothing else, therefore it takes a long time. In mantra, one knows everything as the Buddha's field. Therefore, whatever one enjoys becomes accumulation.

Therefore, because it is vast, because it is excellent by knowing the resources as nectar, because it is supreme by realizing the nature as pure and equal, and because it is pure without abandoning the nature of afflictions, the two accumulations are quickly reconciled and perfected, thereby accomplishing liberation with one lifetime's birth. Thus, just as the method is superior, so too, know that the wisdom established by that method is also exceedingly superior when practicing the path. In short, it should be understood that making the secret of the mind the path, making the secret of speech the path, and making the secret of body the path are threefold. As it is said in the *Yeshe Drubpai Gyü* (Tantra of Accomplished Wisdom): "From the Great Vehicle of the cause, of the paths of body, speech, and mind, among secrets, mantra is supreme, it should be known as the most excellent wisdom." Therein, in terms of characteristics, the body appears as the nature of illusion, and the actions of the body are only engaging in virtue through ordinary means. In mantra, the secret of the body is appearance and existence, deities and palaces, and the body is complete as a mandala, and the gestures such as hand gestures and dances are made the path, therefore it is superior. In terms of characteristics, speech is empty like an echo in a cave, and speech is recitation or restraint, and cutting off speech is to engage in virtue. In mantra, the secret of speech is knowing the sound to be the nature of vowels and consonants, thereby raining down the rain of Dharma, and speech inherently abides in the mandala of speech, so sounds and words naturally arise as mantras, and through recitation, the power is unobstructed, therefore it is superior for accomplishing the meaning. In terms of characteristics, the mind and thoughts are sealed as without inherent existence, and the ordinary thoughts of the mind are scattered and gathered, and then deliberately stopped to cultivate *shamatha* and *vipassanā*. In mantra, the secret of the mind is that thoughts arise as the play of the nature of reality, so the mind arises as self-luminous, self-born wisdom. Therefore, meditation becomes a continuous yoga like a river. The mandala that arises without conceptualization is spontaneously accomplished, therefore it is superior. Furthermore, Ḍombhi Heruka said: "Here, it is the difference of the vessel, and the Dharma that makes the vessel, the difference of the scriptures and the path, and the difference of the fruits, the mantra vehicle is extremely superior." Also, Indrabhūti said: "It is superior because of the difference of the guru, the individual, the ritual, the action, the vows, the view of meditation, and the practice." And the *Mayajala* (Illusion
