Not following after discursive thoughts, and having understood the realization of primordial purity, thereby recognizing where one's future course will be, and without fear or apprehension of death, therefore not performing longevity practices or ransom rituals for death, and because one has gained confidence in the nature of reality free from effort, therefore not engaging in any activities of the three doors, and because one has realized that all is the great emptiness of primordial groundlessness, therefore being free from grasping at anything as substantial and not departing even for an instant from the nature of reality, this arises from the breakthrough of meaning from the expanse. Such yogis do not need to examine death, or ransom it, or clarify it, because they have transcended view and meditation, so dharma has neither benefit nor harm, and because self-appearance dawns as primordial purity and spontaneous presence, the place of liberation dawns as self-existing, and they are liberated by dissolving into the expanse of spontaneous presence and primordial purity. As it is said: In the Union of Sun and Moon Tantra: The yogi examines in this way: The final faculty is the last, continuing the transition in the bardo of existence, like a fox with a severed leg. Likewise, those with intermediate faculties, the way of dying like a wild animal, is the way of dying of a yogi. Likewise, like a lion, and like a beggar, and dying like a young child, is the place of death for an intermediate yogi. Like the way of dying of a dakini, and like the way of dying of a vidyadhara, self-consuming like a fire, like an invisible garuda in the sky, all of these are the elements self-exhausting, invisible, not taking, like this, is the domain of the supreme yogi, having gained the power of habituation to this. Knowing these at the time of death, one knows the characteristics of the transference of body and mind. For the yogi who abides in this way, there is no constant or inconstant cause of death. Likewise, being free from all fears, also free from the extreme of attachment to the body. Even view and meditation, for one endowed with yoga, are free from benefit and harm. Since there is no benefit, there is no result of harm, therefore there is no place to abide in this, free from the ripening of cause and effect, therefore habituation to this is supreme, self-arisen, self-liberated, the expanse of no birth, before time changes, appearances change, dissolving into the expanse of spontaneous presence and primordial purity, free from the extremes of hope and fear, the extremes of cause and effect are exhausted, the expanse of primordial purity, non-dual space and awareness, therefore it is enough to realize this meaning, effortless, spontaneous.
