Therefore, the accumulator of habitual tendencies is the mind, and conceptualizing objects is ignorance that relies on consciousness, which is a threefold superposition of one essence and different aspects, residing on the horse of wind. Thus, the conceptualized samsara of grasping and being grasped, affliction, is established. If this is realized, it is easy to destroy because it is sudden; if it is not realized, it is difficult to separate because it has been ingrained since beginningless time. Regarding its suddenness, the Hevajra Tantra says, "Beings are indeed Buddhas, but they are obscured by sudden stains. Removing them, they are indeed Buddhas." And the Commentary on Valid Cognition says, "The nature of mind is clear light, stains are sudden." Therefore, conceptualization is ignorance, so it lasts a long time and is the cause of samsara. The Praise to Manjushri says, "Conceptualization is great ignorance, it is what causes one to fall into the ocean of samsara. By being free from that conceptualization, you are always in nirvana." Second, extensively explaining the nature of wisdom. The Decisive Inquiry Sutra says, "Wisdom is not conceptual thought, the essence of self-illumination is the essence, the distinctions are considered to be three, the meaning of the definition is the meaning of being present from the beginning, now knowing is wisdom." As it is said, there are four aspects to this: essence, definition, distinction, and individual meaning. First, the essence of wisdom is the inherent awareness of each individual, which has always been present in the realm of knowledge. That very sutra says, "Wisdom is said to abide, by realizing its characteristics, it does not abide in either samsara or nirvana." As it is said. The definition is to realize and know the meaning of being present from the beginning. The Self-Arisen says, "The nature is spontaneously accomplished from the beginning, from then on realization manifests, the definition of wisdom is just like that." As it is said. The distinctions are divided into three: ground-basis wisdom, characteristic-holding wisdom, and object-pervading wisdom. The Garland of Pearls says, "Wisdom itself is like this, ground-basis pure wisdom, characteristic-holding and object-pervading." As it is said. First, ground-basis wisdom has three aspects. The essence of primordially pure wisdom is like the sky, beyond the extremes of existence and non-existence. The Decisive Inquiry Sutra says, "In the essence of primordially pure wisdom, there is no name for ignorance, there is no number of one and two, existence and non-existence are not established by examination, in the undifferentiated nature of reality, even mere wisdom is not established, without words.

It cannot be expressed in words. The self-awareness that does not abide at the extremes. The end of names that grasp at expression is exhausted. In the countless of causeless conditions. There is no duality of object and subject. No characteristics are distinguished in any way. Coarse external conditions are self-exhausted. Because it is primordially non-existent, it is pure and pure. Because delusion and conceptualization have ceased, it does not do anything. Because it is unborn, it is cessation and emptiness. Thus it is said. The wisdom of self-existing spontaneous accomplishment is the essence that appears like a wish-fulfilling jewel, accomplished with skill and planning because it is primordially complete with qualities, empty of entities and characteristics. Again, from that very same source: The wisdom of self-existing spontaneous accomplishment, does not arise, does not cease, does not conceptualize. Because the realm is pure and without certainty. Because skill and qualities are without cessation. It appears merely as play, it is the basis for the completion of all kinds. Because it is non-existent, it appears, and because it appears, it is empty. It has the limbs of the union of appearance and emptiness. Buddhas and sentient beings are the realm. Thus, it manifestly abides as the ground. It abides merely in its own nature. From the perspective of essence, it is empty when examined. Because the limbs expand, wisdom is complete. Because it is self-abiding and spontaneously accomplished. There is no acceptance or rejection in this. Thus it is said. The wisdom of all-pervading compassion is the root that is non-existent in itself but radiates as a plan. Again, from that very same source: From the wisdom of all-pervading compassion. The gate of inexhaustible variety arises. It appears to be exhausted, but is complete in essence. From the nature of the emptiness of the Dharmakaya. The part of wisdom and knowledge is complete. It naturally appears to sentient beings. Without this, the divisions of samsara and nirvana are cut off. It is known and clear through knowledge. From the very nature of self-awareness. The compassion of nature's force itself. It is unceasing, without cessation. From the part of the purification of the elements. There is no action: one is complete. Like light from the sun. The self is without obscuration. Thus it is said. Second, the wisdom that grasps at characteristics is the essence of five roots, and if divided, twenty-five. The five roots are said in Self-Arisen: Dharmadhatu wisdom is without conceptuality, mirror-like wisdom is unobstructed and clear. Equality wisdom is unmixed and complete, discriminating wisdom is understood as before. Accomplishing activity wisdom is complete in all dharmas. Thus, it is considered to have five aspects. Thus it is said. If the meaning of these is explained in detail, it is said in the Consequence: From that, the wisdom that grasps at characteristics, the wisdom of the Sambhogakaya.
