Mistaking for sentient beings, as stated in the Garland of Pearls: From the appearance of great distinction, Arise existence and non-existence; The general ground is called the basis of delusion, Because it is mixed with ignorance; Even knowledge itself appears as defilement. Thus it is said. The Dharmakaya is like the sky, Suddenly obscured by clouds of sentient beings; The nature of non-delusion, Also appears to the mind as a form of delusion; With causes and conditions, it is momentary. Thus it is said. From the Vajrasattva Heart Mirror Tantra: All sentient beings of the three realms are deluded from a basis that is nothing at all. That basis is empty in essence, clear in nature, and compassionate, capable of appearing to sentient beings. From this, the grasping consciousness arises from a part of ignorance, a slight movement, and a dark consciousness arises, thinking, "Did I arise from that? Did that arise from me?" Just the arising of this thought is delusion. That ignorance does not exist on the basis, but exists on experience or phenomena. From phenomena arise four kinds of conditions. That is, the basis abides in the form of a light sphere, which is called the causal condition, which is ignorance itself. If one engages in conceptual thought, it is called the dominant condition. If one grasps it as an object, it is called the objective condition, like showing a person's face in a mirror. These three occur simultaneously, so they are called the immediate condition. These sentient beings, because they themselves are the basis, do not recognize their own nature, and are deluded, thus completing the cycle of the three realms. From this, the afflictions become coarse, and the forms of sentient beings appear differently. Thus, delusion arises from such a basis. Also, when the basis appears and a discriminating consciousness arises, it is due to the ignorance of the same essence, the part that does not recognize its own nature, and the impure objects of the four conditions that delusion arises. These principles are stated in Auspicious and Beautiful: Delusion also arises from the four conditions, The end also reaches the four conditions. From the condition of grasping the cause as an object, delusion arises as the cause of various fruits. From the condition of grasping the dominant condition as an object, delusion arises as various names. From the condition of grasping the objective condition as a mind, delusion arises as a fruit without end. From the condition of grasping the immediate condition as a grasper, delusion arises as various appearances. This is the great method of delusion of the secret mantra basis. Also, the way of appearance

Due to the cause of ignorance, it appears with its own causes. That ignorance is also connected with the five root afflictions, accumulating many conceptual thoughts. Accompanied by thousands of causes, accompanied by many ways of appearing, permeated by the ways of appearing. That is because the appearance of the spontaneously accomplished precious box's natural state has not ceased. The ground has not changed, but the appearance has changed, following many objects, and clinging to everything. The appearance of the Dharmakaya has not changed, but the appearance of delusion seems to be constantly changing. Vajrasattva does not have delusion, but he shows the way of delusion to sentient beings. Finally, turning one's own appearance back to the basis of its own causes. Because one does not recognize that the non-dual appearance is self-arisen, clinging to delusion, it is the main cause. Because one does not recognize that the fruit of self-awareness is self-arisen, clinging to the cause as relative, it is the cause's condition. Because one does not recognize that objects and awareness are empty, clinging to the object, it is the condition of the object's own nature. Because one does not recognize that time is self-arisen relying on light, the awareness of taking what is not that as that arises, so it is the immediately preceding condition of similarity. That is to say, the initial cause of delusion is three kinds of ignorance: only a part of self-nature ignorance, because grasping and the grasped have not arisen, so it is said that there is actually no delusion, which has become delusion, just like nameless has become named, this is the ignorance of the sole nature of the cause. Merely not recognizing that nature, that simultaneously arising ignorance, is the appearance of both samsara and nirvana. In this way, in the appearance of object light, dividing it into two-fold appearance with the mind, it becomes the part of clinging to name and meaning as real, so it is called imputed ignorance. Such a cause has four conditions: the cause's condition is made by the gathering of three ignorances, just like a person has form and limbs, and disease naturally arises. From there arises the condition of the object, just like a mirror appearing on the external object, and because there is a face, it is like the face appearing in the mirror. The object's own light appears outward, so the main cause is the clinging to the mirror, the face, and the entity as three, just like clinging to the face and the mirror, the clinging to light, awareness, and dharmata as three, so it is called the main cause. In this way, the cause is not
