It is also like that. The method of relying on the five secret fires is as follows: A person who dwells in the pure land emanated by the Buddha lights a lamp, and with subtle wisdom, he knows that he has attained Buddhahood from the light of the five wisdoms, and he practices the five fires. That is, he soaks a sandalwood tree in sesame oil, lights five piles of fire, and burns his own body. There are also those called "fire clothers" who wrap their bodies with cloth soaked in sesame oil, and then light it to burn their own bodies. There are also those who practice the asceticism of the three-pointed spear, inserting the three-pointed spear into the ground and jumping on it to practice asceticism. There are also those who jump off cliffs or abysses to abandon their bodies. There is also the practice called "wrong view attachment," which involves cutting out mirror-sized pieces of flesh from one's own body, from the left and right arms and the crown of the head, placing one's own body in a pit in the ground, and allowing carrion animals to devour one's own body. There are also those called "evil animal conduct" who transform into the appearance of a dog and practice evil asceticism. To say that the author is the cause is like this: Just as a skilled carpenter makes different images of men and women and performs work, so too, dharmas and the like perform work with their own supernormal powers, and then hope to be born into the retinue of Ishvara or Mahadeva. The tenet of taking the author as the path is: In this world, by doing works such as building houses, in the next life one abandons one's own body, and Ishvara or Mahadeva comes to greet one and places one on the steps of Mount Meru. The view that permanence can represent meaning is: The meaning lies in one's own permanence, while completely showing annihilation to others. To say that permanence is steadfast is to think like this: The meaning lies in the great unchanging permanence, while the nature is uncertain. Furthermore, to say that it changes temporarily is like this: The meaning lies in temporarily viewing annihilation as permanence. To view the cause as permanent is: In the center of one's own heart, the object of the cause is round in shape, white in color, and about the size of a bean. It does not arise from the father's cause, nor is it produced by the mother's condition, but is viewed as permanent. To think that the fruit is permanent is: The cause does not

Constancy, meaning the mind is not substantial. The result is constant, saying that Brahma or Ishvara certainly exists. Regarding constancy, relying on the path: the cause is impermanent, meaning the mind is not substantial. The result is impermanent, not going to the place of Brahma or Ishvara without companions. The path is constant, on the path of Brahma or Ishvara, located on the summit of Mount Meru. They believe that one abides on the path there. Furthermore, regarding conduct, believing in constancy: the cause and result are impermanent, believing that liberation is achieved through constant conduct. They consider lands and houses to be constant, viewing all these appearances as constant. Regarding the absence of constant meaning, they view it as annihilation: viewing meaning as annihilation, and employing the tenets of constancy in this. Primarily engaging in evil mantras: primarily engaging in evil mantras, performing fierce actions of destruction, speaking black, solitary words, clinging to this appearance and desiring results. Primarily engaging in divination and astrology: relying solely on the happiness of this world, saying there is no afterlife. Primarily engaging in subtle magical powers: believing that in this world one can resist armies through magical powers, and in the afterlife also suppressing through magical powers, hoping to be reborn as a retinue of Brahma or Ishvara. Holding such views that are fond of debate: internalizing one's own truth, hoping to gain benefit by refuting others. Also hoping to gain benefit from perverse asceticism. Attachment to this world: called those who cast away the world, acting in the affairs of this world. Moreover, after one's own truth is understood, there are also instances of belittling the excellence of others. Some seek meaning through attire. Some seek meaning by making clothes from hair. Some wrap their bodies with a single thin cloth, saying that they have generated inner warmth. Some hold a khaṭvāṅga (天杖) and cymbals as symbols, saying, "I am an emanation." Some say, "Whatever good deeds you do benefit me," and rely on that. Some refute the wisdom of others with their own wisdom, saying, "This is my doing," and rely on that. Some say that the cause is severed, completely annihilated like the sky. Some say that completely annihilated, one's own body is also emptiness.
