All sentient beings in the three realms initially arise from confusion within a base that is nothing at all. The essence of that base is emptiness, its nature is luminosity, and it possesses compassion, capable of appearing to sentient beings. Upon this, a grasping consciousness arises, a slight tremor originating from the aspect of ignorance. Due to this obscured consciousness, the mere arising of the thought, "Did it arise from that, or did that arise from me?" causes confusion. Ignorance is not within the base itself, but rather exists within experience or phenomena. From phenomena, four conditions arise. That is, the base exists in the form of a sphere of light, which is called the causal condition, namely, actual ignorance. When this turns into grasping and conceptualization, it is called the dominant condition. When this is grasped as an object, it is called the objective condition, like the reflection of a person's face in a mirror. These three occur simultaneously, and thus it is called the immediate condition. It is one's own base, but one does not recognize it, and thus becomes confused, resulting in the formation of the three realms of samsara. From this, the afflictions become coarse, and the forms of sentient beings become distinct. Such a base becomes confused due to impurity. Thus it is said. In "Glorious and Beautiful," it says: That is, from the state of the spontaneously accomplished jewel box, appearances are unceasing, the base does not change, but appearances do change, following after various objects, giving rise to conceptualization about everything. The appearance of the Dharmakaya does not change, but the appearance of confusion seems to change. Vajrasattva does not possess confusion, yet he demonstrates the way sentient beings are confused. Finally, one reverts one's own appearances back to the base of self-originated conditions. Not recognizing that the non-dual appearance is self-arisen, one grasps onto confusion as the possessor, thus it is the dominant condition. Not recognizing that the fruit of self-awareness is self-arisen, one grasps onto the cause as being dependent, thus it is the causal condition. Not recognizing that objects and consciousness are empty, one grasps onto the object as an object of focus, thus it is the condition of self-nature. Not recognizing that light is naturally arisen, dependent on time, thus there arises the consciousness that grasps onto something as being what it is not, thus it is the similar immediate condition. And, in "Refutation of Extremes," it says: Regarding this, the cause and condition of confusion, parts and limbs, oneself and also, immature conceptual thoughts are samsara. Ignorance has three aspects, with a single essence, thus it is the root of confusion. Co-emergent are two types of conceptual thought, universally conceptualized and transformed into an object. Condition!

By the four aspects, gathering and holding is called delusion. Parts are due to actions and so on. The realm of delusion is divided into twelve parts. Maturation is years and actions. From the different elaborations of limbs, all are different in names. In the realm of delusion, there are two kinds of changes. By karma, the desire realm and the form realm, and the formless realms, these are the three kinds. If not matured, then the six realms take form. Names and actions change differently. Discrimination is latent habit, arising completely, and the way of pervasion. Samsara is the same, the work of gathering is collecting and increasing, completeness and various differences. Thus. That is also the wisdom arising from the ground, not matured, in the three realms and six paths, each karma's cycle, that also first from the twelve links of dependent origination, then in twelve years and twelve months, the twelve defilements gather, and the twelve sense bases are made to exist, which is the twelve impure links of dependent origination. When the ground appears as the ground appearance, from the power of wisdom, mind consciousness arises, and together with not knowing one's own face, it is ignorance. From that delusion, actions arise. From that, observing the appearance of the object, it is consciousness. From that, this is the object, it appears, and so on, dividing into names. From that, holding the nature of the meaning of the named as form, the first delusion of existence arises, called name and form. From that, knowledge arises and spreads in the six aspects of the object, so the six sense bases arise. From that, the touch that holds the object. From that, the feeling of the part of attachment, aversion, and neutrality. From that, the clinging to the object, love. From that, the later taker, and thus taking the object, taking. From that, many delusions appear, and the part of experiencing actions arises, whatever arises is uncertain, so it is existence. From that, arising in the formless, form, and desire realms, so it is birth. From that, arising between aging, sickness, and death, so repeatedly revolving like that, so the cause of samsara, the twelve links of dependent origination, first arise from the ground appearance. From that, the twelve links of dependent origination at the time of each delusion should also be known incidentally. When the nature of reality is extinguished, from self-ignorance, the later actions and the part of consciousness.
