Me. Because thoughts and memories arise in the mind, nature itself is stained by conceptualization. Because the six consciousnesses' grasping is not ceased, the Dharmakaya itself is bound by the grasped. Because of the presence of infinitesimal particles, clear light itself is tainted with habitual patterns. Because the four conditions' objects are not pure, appearance itself arises as manifold. Thus it is said. That is, the cause of delusion is ignorance; the condition is the appearance of objects to consciousness; the basis appearing as the basis-consciousness, the deluder, is the flowing, expanding consciousness, bound by the grasper and the grasped. In the Madhyamaka-avatara it says: The cause of delusion is ignorance, the basis and consciousness are stained, and the way the grasper and the senses revolve; the condition is from the object and the part of the grasper, separating each at the extremes, the object of focus not knowing oneness; the basis is inseparable anywhere, impermanent and destroyed; consciousness is the flowing, disappearing, and expanding, all those who grasp are consciousness; staining is grasping as impurity, because the knowable is bound by its own continuum; even that which is not the grasper is tightly bound by truth. Thus it is said. Second, explaining in detail the aspect, which is the part of the conditions. That is, seeing what is not there as being there, there are three kinds of ignorance as the cause of delusion. In the part that is truly not inverted, after measuring with self-ignorance, it goes into delusion, and it is called self-nature one ignorance. Not knowing its nature, it is co-emergent ignorance, which is the appearance of both samsara and nirvana. On the appearance of different objects, individually arising analytical investigation, is the ignorance of complete imputation. The condition for such a cause is four: the condition of the cause, the three ignorances gathering together in this way, delusion arises, just as a man with form and limbs, the face naturally appears. From that arises the condition of the object, like a mirror appearing on the external object, and there is a face there, like the face appearing in the mirror. The object of focus, its own light shines outward, from this arises the condition of the possessor, like the mirror, the face, and the self grasping as three real entities, like thinking in the face and the mirror, light, awareness, and dharmata are all thought, therefore it is called the condition of the possessor. Thus, the three causes of ignorance and the three conditions are simultaneous, which is the immediately preceding condition, which is the time when delusion actually arises. These are also said in the Vajrasattva Heart Mirror Tantra: Realm
