Therefore, the disciple, without effort, gains confidence in experience and becomes enlightened, with appearance and the three kayas inseparable. These are spoken in relation to the nature of practice after seeing the gate of directly naked awareness of this Great Perfection. This is to repeat those extremely special key points that surpass other methods. Second, regarding the cessation and binding of effortless, thorough, naked contemplation, there are two points: recognizing the Dharmakaya and cessation and binding in that state. The first point is: whether the objects of the six consciousnesses appear outward or the self-abiding awareness dwells inward, the aspect of awareness is self-luminous, naked, clear, and vivid. Even if bad thoughts arise, they are self-liberated and naked. Even if good thoughts arise, they are clear and liberated from extremes. Even when abiding in its own ground, it is uninterruptedly open, not transformed by objects, not obscured by grasping, not involved in rejection or acceptance, but that clear and lucid aspect of awareness is recognized as the thorough, naked Dharmakaya. If it is not awareness, then there is no need to mention it. If it is awareness, then it is impossible for its nature not to be the Dharmakaya, so it should be recognized. In the "Great Garuda Sutra," it says: "Without meditation, without fabrication, that itself is self-awareness. Separated from sound and thought, it is the field beyond all. What need is there to alter that which is self-settled in its own state? Abiding is cessation, moving is self-liberation. Not seeing non-existence, not abandoning existence, there is no enlightenment in that. This very groundless state, where is its place? Entering, there is nowhere to go beyond. The mind whose nature, existence, and non-existence are difficult to ascertain, can be touched. Unthinkable, the very wisdom without confusion. Effortless, holding the strength of the foolish, be content. Without elaboration, practice it, you who are mindful of the sky!" So it is said. The nature of this itself is called the self-arisen wisdom of primordial liberation. Because in the Dharmakaya of reality, one recognizes one's own nature in its own place, it is said that the wisdom of the sphere and awareness are like mother and child merging, but in reality, it is realizing the meaning of the exhaustion of phenomena in its own state, so it is said that samsara is enlightened in the Dharmakaya. To dispel the defilements of exaggeration and denigration of this nature, in the "String of Pearls" it says: "For phenomena that are pure in their nature, without defilement, subtle and coarse are wrong. Without grasping at form, confusion is wrong. Without movement, karmic winds are wrong. Because it is thorough, substantiality is wrong. Because it is self-liberated, appearances are wrong. Because it is clear, emptiness is wrong. Because it is primordially complete, the generation stage is wrong. Because there is no effort, conduct is wrong. Because it is left unfound, meditation is wrong. Manifestly appearing

The view of earth is wrong. Without sound or words, terminology is wrong. Never having existed, attachment is wrong. Never having not existed, dependence on others is wrong. Because it cannot be grasped, the scope of mind is wrong. Because it is unique, the limit of numbers is wrong. Because it pervades everything, the arising of others ceases. Because it is self-arisen, darkness is dispelled. Because it is the essence, it pervades the Dharmakaya. Because it appears clearly, it increases the Sambhogakaya. Because mother and child meet, the Nirmanakaya arises. Because it can be realized, it becomes a method. Because it transcends thought, memory is cleared. Because there is no permanence or annihilation, the philosophical tenets are perfected. Because it is condensed into essence, it is clear in awareness. Because it is self-liberated, it is naturally settled. The awareness that reverses that very nature: Because it arises from itself, it is called liberation. Because it abides, it is called pervasive. Because it is without characteristics, it is called emptiness. Because it does not disappear, it is called arising. Because it is without substance, it is thoroughly clear. Because it abides in liberation, it is called reversal. Because various things appear, it is called radiance. Because it is non-dual, it is the only one. Because it creates everything, it is called cause. Because it is completely perfect, it is the result. Because the object is pure, it is called the path. Because delusion is exhausted, it is also scripture. Because it abides in itself, it is called continuum. Because it can be symbolized, it is the oral instruction. Because it transcends numbers, it is called calculation. Such is the nature of mind, Because it fulfills needs and desires, It is like a jewel. Because it fulfills needs, it is like a treasury. Because whatever is shown appears, it is like a mirror. Because it is immaculate and clear, it is like a crystal ball. Like a tent of various silks. Because there is no expansion or contraction, it is like a great garuda. Like a lion with perfected viewing skills. Because it is deep, perfect, and pervasive, it is like an ocean. Like the sky, the basis of inner arising and liberation. Thus it is said. Second, obstructing and gathering in that state: Whether naked awareness arises or abides, it is naturally settled without fabrication or adulteration, relaxed in its own state, clear and pure with clarity and intensity, that is, naked and distinct. Once it is grasped with thought, naked awareness falls upon the state of severing the connection of the three times, therefore it is said that the Dharmakaya abides in the uninterrupted meditation of its own nature. As the 'Khyungchen' says: That wisdom devoid of appearance and emptiness, Not grasping, not abandoning, not adulterating, naturally as it is. How does one touch the realm of the three? Neither false nor true, the way of abiding is naturally free. Thus it is said. At this time, although thoughts appear, they have already nakedly emerged into the wisdom that does not grasp its own nature. Because the connection of the grasper, the grasped, and the three times is severed, awareness is clear in its own state. The lion's skill is perfected.
