Having realized that there is nothing that is not liberated in all dharmas, it is called liberation from one's own ground in the six realms. In the "Six Spaces" it is said: In the mind-essence without acceptance or rejection, The appearance of spontaneous self-liberation without bias, The intention of great pervasiveness, Is what I, Kuntuzangpo, have taught. At that time, the afflictions are purified in their place, like clouds clearing in the sky, or like the turbidity of water settling on its own. Initially, there was no confusion; now, it does not abide in confusion; later, it arises from the key point of impossibility of confusion. In that same tantra, it is said: In the mind-essence of uncontaminated appearance, The stains of confusing conditions are purified in their own place. So it is. At this time, the person is named "abandoning the dharma" because there is no dharma to be deliberately kept in mind. Fourth, in the yoga of continuously maintaining the fruit, there are five aspects: fruit, method, intention, purification, and person. The fruit is like the fruit of the acacia tree that does not revert to the cause. Also, at this time, the king has taken the throne and does not change, just as a royal family member is enthroned from the crown of the head and does not change, so awareness itself has taken its own place. The populace has been subdued and does not change, just as a king wages war on the populace and subdues them, and from then on does not change, the basis for the arising of the five sense consciousnesses is empty, so there is no name for samsara. The minister has been imprisoned and does not change, just as if a beloved minister of a king is imprisoned, then that king must also obey, the flow of mental consciousness is cut off, so awareness gains freedom. These examples show that the single awareness does not change. If that fruit is named, it is called the fruit of self-nature purity, it is not like something done by effort or arising from exertion, but the meaning of primordial purity is manifested, so it is merely a term called fruit. In its instruction, the method of resting the awareness is: by placing the awareness itself on whatever appears, the appearance and grasping are liberated in their own place. By placing it on whatever arises, the grasping is liberated in its own place, it is called the state of self-liberation of grasping and the grasped, free from extremes. In the "Six Spaces" it is said: In the mind-essence without conceptualization, The appearance free from objects and conditions, Is called the state of great self-purification, I, Kuntuzangpo,

Has been declared. In the nature of mind without conceptualization, the unobstructed self-manifestation without grasping, recognizing the face of one's own clarity, Samantabhadra I have declared. Thus it is said. At this time, karma and afflictions, and all arising defilements, do not manifestly abide in the three doors, therefore it is called the intention of the three realms being primordially pure. That same tantra says: In the nature of mind without suffering, the appearance free from self-grasping is, called the intention of great self-establishment, Samantabhadra I have declared. Thus it is said. At this time, afflictions are like water ripples or snake knots, self-liberated and self-dissolving, arising and liberation are without before or after, therefore the nature of reality manifests in the state of self-purification. The Six Spaces tantra says: In the nature of mind where the six aggregates appear, the aggregates of conceptualization are all purified. In the nature of mind where sound and words appear, expressions and names are all purified. In the nature of mind where self-abiding appears, the conditions of the four elements are all purified in their own place. In the nature of mind where grasping and being grasped appear, the self-grasping of bondage is all purified. Thus it is said. At this time, that person is called one who has transcended the Dharma, free from all clinging to the faults and virtues of samsara and nirvana. These are the stages of practice taught to those with minds focused on objects, for the sake of those who delight in the elaboration of meaning. Now, the stages of practice taught to those with minds of self-arising awareness are twofold: how to excel beyond the common, and teaching the actual instructions. First, excelling beyond the common through seven key points: Because awareness is realized as direct seeing, there is the key point of no sharpness or dullness in the faculties. Because the nature of reality is seen through the faculties, there is the key point of no greatness or smallness in wisdom. Because the self-face of the natural state is realized, there is the key point of not seeing the nature of reality in words. Because there is no effort of acceptance or rejection, there is the key point of no old or young age. Because self-awareness is without defilement, there is the key point of no good or bad in actions. Because the nature of reality transcends the completion of thought, there is the key point of not relying on the ground and path of view and meditation. Because the result is primordially pure, there is the key point of the three kayas arising as the appearance of the path, and not turning back in the three realms. First, from the Reversal Tantra: Through the key point of the direct experience of the nature of reality, one also realizes that there is no good or bad in actions. Through the definitive condensation of the Heart Essence, the faculties have no sharpness or dullness. Because the limits of conceptual thought and words are exhausted, it is not wisdom but the faculties that see. With words
