Undefiled by appearance, appearance is not cut off by consciousness, but is clear and free from elaboration. As it says in that very text: "In the nature of emptiness and clarity, awareness, the nature is not mixed with anything. The extremes of grasping and being grasped are exhausted, and the nature of reality is pure in its own essence." Thus, having meditated, the union of calm and insight is achieved, and when samatha and vipassana are mixed, it is the same as the intention of establishing the ground of appearance and existence. Here, having become the basis, the elaboration of conceptual thought is cut off from the phenomena of appearance and existence, samsara and nirvana, and whatever appears, whatever arises, all spontaneously abides in the state of reality. As it says in the Sixth Space: "In the nature of mind without sinking or excitement, the meditation of great equanimity is called the meditation of the six aggregates being relaxed. Kuntuzangpo, I have taught. In the nature of mind without fear, the appearance free from hope and doubt is called the intention of confident abiding in the original state. Kuntuzangpo, I have taught." Thus. At this time, the afflictions are like being sown, and the aspect of the self-purification of the afflictions arises as wisdom, and all the phenomena of appearance and attachment arise as the play of the dharmakaya. As it says in that very text: "In the nature of mind, the appearance of consciousness, the number of afflictions are purified in their own place." Thus. At this time, if a name is given to that person, it is called the time of abiding in the Dharma. All the phenomena of samsara and nirvana abide on one's own mind without learning. That which is not separated, not divided, abiding in its own place is called meditation. Third, for the yogi who constantly practices the view, there are five: the view that cuts off the city, the instruction that abides like a mountain, the intention that liberates the three realms, the afflictions that are purified in their own place, and the time when the holy person abandons the Dharma. First, there are two views: the common view and one's own view. The common one is mental discrimination, as it says in the Prasangika: "In the tenets of each of the eight schools, it is considered to be the clinging of mental discrimination." Thus. The self-nature Great Perfection's freedom from activity is Longchenpa's view. Looking at the common object of Dharma, whatever appears is liberated as the play of reality, and spontaneously arises in the nature of reality, free from the extremes of appearance and emptiness. As it says in the Self-Arisen Awareness: "When the object of Dharma appears as a sign, because the eye sense is not obstructed, the view of the mind is excellent. When one's own awareness is clear, it is the appearance of the magical outer world. In the nature of non-conceptual clarity, if one knows it to be the great self-born, the view of the object of Dharma is"

View. Thus it is. By looking at the very nature of Dharma, one is without duality, without limit, and free from extremes, seeing one's own mind as the great unborn nature. It is also from this that: The wisdom of Dharma nature is unborn, Conceptual appearances naturally cease. When wisdom is without affirmation or negation, How could there be clinging actions? To realize the nature of Dharma, Know it as being without effort. Thus it is. By looking at the secret wisdom, one sees the primordially pure, limitless, stainless, and like the sky. It is also from this that: The wisdom free from action, Not falling to any side, Is called great meditation. This is how it is realized: With the wisdom of a single thought, Deep faith arises in the heart, If the unborn nature of Dharma is realized, Then great wisdom will arise. Thus it is. When seeing the essence of the view, one is free from grasping onto mental fabrications and words, and realizes the meaning of self-arisen wisdom, the unchanging meaning. As it says in the Consequence School: When seeing the essence of the view, There is no movement of mental fabrications or words. Thus it is. If one were to give these a name, it would be called the view that cuts off the continuity of the city, that is, cutting off the continuity of the city of the womb, and not reverting in the three realms. The best attain enlightenment in this very life; the middling attain enlightenment in the bardo; and the lowest also attain enlightenment in the self-nature Sambhogakaya. As it says in the Union of Sun and Moon: The best do not need two lives, The middling are at the juncture of two lives, The lowest exhale their breath, And their own lineage is liberated in the Nirmanakaya. Thus it is. In its instructions, the method of the Mount Meru placement is like seeing the four continents at once from the top of the supreme Mount Meru in the center. Likewise, with the view of Dzogchen, one sees all the meanings of the nine gradual vehicles at once in one's own system, but other vehicles do not see the meaning of Dzogchen. From the aspect of immutability, it is also like the Mount Meru placement: whatever appears, whatever arises, one places it without modification, and thus the intention of all vehicles is perfected. As it says in the Six Spaces: On the countable mind itself, Each vehicle arises on its own, Not as arbitrary mental fabrication, But perfected as the innermost great secret. Thus it is. Its intention dawns as the complete liberation of the three realms, so when the yogi who has realized Dzogchen looks, all appearances of samsara and nirvana are...
