Ga ga. How to meditate on the ease of entering two? This makes desire and enjoyment the path. How to make the intermediate space the path? This also gains control over the mind. Thus it is said. The key to determining the place and experience of these is as follows. From the Madhyamaka: With twenty-one stages of mind-holding training, first, to place in the place, second, to separate body and mind, and third, to see the nature of reality. At this time, the key to body, speech, and mind, the yogi should skillfully utilize. Also, with the horse of the moving wind, mixing, shooting, and gathering, if the wise rely on these keys, the mind's thoughts will cease. Thus it is said. Second, identifying the nature of the occasion: Among these, seven should be learned here. A person with faith should first please the lama, and then sit comfortably on a cushion in a secluded place, sit in the lotus position, and focus the mind on the white seed syllable Āḥ (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: आः, Sanskrit Romanization: āḥ, Chinese literal meaning: Ah). That is, imagine a white Āḥ (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: आः, Sanskrit Romanization: āḥ, Chinese literal meaning: Ah) at the tip of your nose, and when the breath goes out, the Āḥ (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: आः, Sanskrit Romanization: āḥ, Chinese literal meaning: Ah) also goes out with a stretch. When it enters, the Āḥ (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: आः, Sanskrit Romanization: āḥ, Chinese literal meaning: Ah) comes back as a white, round ball at the tip of the nose, and meditate without distracting the mind for a long time. Also, if the body feels too hot, imagine the Āḥ (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: आः, Sanskrit Romanization: āḥ, Chinese literal meaning: Ah) as a cold touch. If it is too cold, imagine it as a hot touch. By doing this, an experience of being unborn and free from thought will arise. If you are not satisfied with this, then focus your mind on the fierce syllable PHAṬ (Tibetan: ཕཊ, Sanskrit Devanagari: फट्, Sanskrit Romanization: phaṭ, Chinese literal meaning: Phat), which dispels obstacles. Keep the body as before, and for a moment, let the awareness wander, and then say a fierce PHAṬ (Tibetan: ཕཊ, Sanskrit Devanagari: फट्, Sanskrit Romanization: phaṭ, Chinese literal meaning: Phat), so that the awareness becomes clear and a non-conceptual state arises. Recognize this as wisdom and practice day and night, and an experience of self-purification will arise. If you are not satisfied with this, then focus your mind on the laughter of the wrathful deity, relax the body as before, and say a fierce and short HA (Tibetan: ཧ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: ह, Sanskrit Romanization: ha, Chinese literal meaning: Ha), and a clear and non-conceptual wisdom will arise. Also, whenever the mind is disturbed by afflictions, or the body and mind are uncomfortable, this method can be used to eliminate them. At this time, an experience of being separated from the recognition of the nature of reality will arise. If you are not satisfied with this, then focus your mind on the fighting of the Asuras. Sit on the top of a mountain, a rock, or the roof of a house, squatting, and first slowly roll your head, then roll it as hard as you can, moving your body as well, and practice for three or four days, and at some point, these external appearances will turn into a red, bloody scene.

Then it transforms into a bright yellow, then into a blue-green, then into a gray-white, then into a fresh green, and then the external appearances cease, becoming devoid of any inherent nature. Then, one experiences the feeling of appearances dissolving into their own nature, neither arising nor ceasing. At this time, one should nourish the winds with auspicious food and focus awareness on the syllable "Ram" at the navel chakra. If this doesn't work, one should drive away discursive thoughts with the syllable "Hum," focusing the mind on emitting a long, intoned "Hum" sound, mixing it with the breath, and sometimes shortening it. In this way, the mind will not cling to anything, and a non-discriminating samadhi will arise, giving rise to the experience of discursive thoughts appearing as the nature of reality. If this doesn't work, one should focus the mind on emptiness in stages: using one's own wisdom to dissect this body, analyzing it with names like "Ma" and so on. Even the head alone should be divided into particles, including the skin, hair, flesh, ears, nose, tongue, etc., and analyzed. Just as the name "head" has no substance, by dissecting everything, one finds nothing, feels bewildered, and suddenly a non-discriminating wisdom experience arises from the body, and one meditates in that state. If this doesn't work, one should focus the mind on sudden emptiness: focusing awareness on the state where everything that appears before the eyes becomes empty and clear. If one can do this, first there is appearance, second there is emptiness, and third, one naturally abides in the indivisible nature of reality. In this way, in the meditation that relies on the body, it is key that the body's movements do not cease. In the meditation of speech, it is important to listen with awareness in the ears and that the expression of speech does not cease. In the meditation of the mind, it is key that the mind does not wander from its object of focus and that the breath is slow. These are the profound key points for suddenly generating experience. Fourth, the intention of the Sugata-garbha has two aspects: essence and division. The essence is meditation that transcends session breaks, like the sky. In "Self-Appearance," it says: "The intention of the Tathagatagarbha should be known as the vastness of the sky." The divisions are: not fabricating, naturally abiding, causing antidotes to cease naturally; not practicing, naturally attaining meditation. In "Sun and Moon Union," it says: "The intention of the Sugata has two aspects: abiding without fabrication."
