Place awareness in a state of non-reliance. With four profound meanings, sever all phenomena of appearance and existence. With four times and individuals, bestow blessings upon all dharmas. With four key points of purification and liberation, transform afflictions into self-mastery. By this, measure oneself, and with four examples, reveal self-confidence. Whoever becomes accustomed to this will grasp the essence of all wisdom-dharmas and attain the Great Seal. Thus, twenty categories are taught. Secondly, these are condensed into four: view, meditation, conduct, and result, and then practiced. As stated in the 'Ornament of Jewels': 'Conduct is continuous yoga, meditation is continuous yoga, view is continuous yoga, result is continuous yoga.' Thus, there are four: continuous yoga of conduct, continuous yoga of meditation, continuous yoga of view, and continuous yoga of result. The first of these has two aspects: generally showing the nature of conduct, and identifying the meaning in this context. The first is as stated in 'Union of Sun and Moon': 'Whoever applies themselves to the meaning of yoga should become accustomed to these conducts.' With the conduct of a bee, taste the flavor of all dharmas. With the conduct of a deer, abandon the places that cause delusion. With the conduct of a mute person, completely abandon deluded speech. With the conduct of a hoopoe bird, cut through doubts about secret mantras. With the conduct of a madman, abandon places by staying in one place. With the conduct of a lion, abandon fearful thoughts and wander in charnel grounds. With the conduct of a dog and pig, abandon the attachment to purity and impurity. With the conduct of a dwarf, immediately cut off thoughts and reflections. With the conduct of a young child, abandon deluded clinging for a long time. With the conduct of a drum and donkey, guide with words that conform to the world. With the conduct of an elephant, reverse the battlefields of samsara from their roots. With the conduct of a deer, abandon the notions of son and enemy. With the conduct of a merchant woman, cut off the timing of desire with contentment. With the conduct of a female mule, do not propagate the seeds of samsara. With the conduct of a Brahmin, do not enjoy the wealth of others.

Abandon base foods. With the conduct of a hero, distinguish the boundaries of samsara and nirvana. With the conduct of a spring, settle the basis of mindfulness in its own place. With the conduct of brandishing a spear in the sky, thoroughly penetrate things. With the conduct of space like wind, abandon the thoughts of grasping and being grasped. With the conduct of a garuda, cut off cliffs with its wings. With the conduct of a mountain, practice on the unchanging self-purity. With the conduct of the Great Vehicle, make appearances irreversible. Thus it is said. Secondly, among these twenty-one, here we learn seven. First, the conduct of conforming to all doors, like a bee seeking a hive, is: through listening, distinguish dharma from non-dharma; through contemplation, suppress afflictions; through meditation, cut off (afflictions) from the root. As it is said in that very tantra: There are three kinds of wisdom: the wisdom of listening cuts off external additions, the wisdom of contemplation cuts off internal additions, and the wisdom of meditation cuts off secret additions. As an aid to this, without doubt, just as an owl cuts off human additions before entering its nest and then comes without confusion, so first cut off additions through listening, and then enter into practice without doubt in what you trust. As an aid to this, the conduct of a wild animal, which is not practiced by everyone, is: just as a wounded wild animal flees from people because of its wound and goes to a cave or mountain top no matter what, so too, the yogi, fearing people because of his aversion to samsara, should dwell in cemeteries and other places where people do not go. As an aid to this, the conduct of a mute is: cut off speech and do not speak to anyone. By doing so, mindfulness becomes rigid. The conduct of a madman is: at that time, unrelated words will spontaneously arise, like a madman. At this time, the conduct of a dog and pig, which does not distinguish between clean and unclean, will arise, and one will eat food indiscriminately, without distinguishing between good and bad. When these six are complete, the invincible conduct of a lion will arise, just as a lion has no fear or apprehension of anything, so too, this yogi has no fear of appearances.
