These all gather into the Three Jewels, and women gather into the Dakinis. Mudras also gather there, and not breaking the Sangha gathers into the ten virtues, and not disturbing the mind gathers into abandoning the ten non-virtues. Third, the samaya of the Secret King is: not straying from the state of realizing that all phenomena of the outer and inner world, the vessel and essence, are without foundation, like illusions and dreams; not straying from the state of letting the six aggregates, gathered by objects and senses, be naturally free in a state of non-action of Dharma nature, without acceptance or rejection, and without grasping or attachment; not separating from the state of realizing that the appearance of spontaneously arising wisdom light is spontaneously accomplished; deciding that all dharmas arise from the single state of the wisdom of the root awareness, appear in the state, and are liberated in the state, and that there is nothing other than this. These four great bonds of samaya are taught as the special Dharma of this Great Perfection. As it is said in the Tantra of the Heap of Jewels: "In the branch that teaches that, one should protect the two kinds of samaya. By doing all this beforehand, one enters into the King of Supreme Vehicles." Thus it is. The samaya of Trekchö is "non-existence" and "letting go," and the samaya of Tögal is "spontaneous accomplishment" and "oneness." The individual distinctions are: Again, as it is said in that same text: "At that time, exceeding the boundary of protection, non-existence, oneness, and letting go, that becomes its friend." Thus it is. In the "Perfection of Skill," it is said: "The field of activity of great wisdom is: in non-existence itself, one practices non-existence; in oneness itself, one practices oneness; in letting go itself, one practices letting go; in spontaneous accomplishment itself, one practices spontaneous accomplishment. What is called samaya, samaya, is not something that exists elsewhere. If one realizes the meaning of one's own appearance, that is called the King of Samaya." Thus it is. Sixth, there are two ways to protect it: The first is to protect it so that it is never broken, like the way of the Vajra King; the second is to protect it by restoring it after it has been broken, like the way of the precious good vase. The first is the way of noble individuals, that is, seeing the benefits and faults, having great shame and embarrassment, and with pure mindfulness and awareness, not exceeding the boundary of what is to be abandoned and adopted, protecting it with great steadfastness. As it is said in "Self-Arisen": "If one abides in the samaya as it is, and does not let it go even for an eon, that is the method of protecting the great samaya." Thus it is. The second is: intermediate individuals

This is the rule of the ritual. One fears the fault of transgression, and restores it to its original state by rectifying it with a desire for the benefits of protection. Among these, the vows of the Hearers are like broken earthenware, which cannot be repaired. The vows of the Bodhisattvas are like broken clay pots, which can only be patched together. However, the vows of Secret Mantra are like precious vessels that have been dented, which can be straightened out. It is taught that restoring them by filling them is most excellent. This refers to valuing the single lineage of vows. If one needs to take them later, it is called "not restored," because one has to take them from the beginning. Mantra only needs to be restored, not fundamentally transformed, so if one strives, one can be liberated in one lifetime. This is the key point, because otherwise, the obscurations will not allow one to be liberated. The method of purification is as follows: From Rangshar: "If the teacher transgresses the samaya, a great tsok khorlo should be performed. The same applies to vajra siblings." And: "This is the method of purification: Perform the ritual of a hundred lamps, recite the Spongkong a hundred times, and perform various confessions." And: "Offerings of substances that please the teacher, offer to the noble ones whatever wealth you have." This refers to the disciple's side. If the teacher transgresses, there is no way to rectify it, because the basis of confession itself has been transgressed, which is harmful to both teacher and disciple. If the disciple transgresses, there is a way to rectify it, because one can rely on the teacher to confess, and it does not harm the teacher, because there is a difference between the higher and lower bases. As it is said in Rangshar: "If the teacher transgresses, there is no method of purification. Both will give rise to great weeping and wailing. If the disciple transgresses, there is a method of purification. It is said that one should recite vast scriptures, perform a great tsok khorlo, and purify the three circles completely." Regarding the purification of sins through confession, it is also said in the same text: "If one confesses in this way, all wishes will be fulfilled, all desires will be satisfied, and all actions will be completed." And: "If such omens occur, perform the confession described above. If one confesses, one will attain the siddhi of averting." This refers to the common situation. If it is a Vajra Master and the disciple transgresses, it is only a matter of lessening the sin through confession, not completely.
