Since the essence is pure from the very beginning, even those who are liberated appear to be playing. The Bodhisattva again requested: Since the very essence is pure from the beginning, spontaneous accomplishment also becomes unnecessary. Or, because it is spontaneously accomplished, purity from the beginning does not exist. The way the Teacher spoke of abiding, because there are no words to express it, it is free from the sound of expression. Because it is not established in any essence, words cannot harm it. Thus it is said. Third, the general presentation of the structure of the plan: The primordial ground of the expanse has three: essence, nature, and compassion. Three: nature, self-nature, and essence. Primordial purity and spontaneous accomplishment. If one essence is divided by different aspects, it exists as eight. From its nature, when the ground appearance arises, from the aspect of being the basis for both liberation and delusion, it is called the common ground. Because it is the basis for liberation, it is the basis for liberation. Because it is the basis for the delusion of sentient beings, it is called the basis for delusion. The essence of the ground appearance, if divided from the aspect of liberation and delusion, exists as three. As it says in the "String of Pearls": Essence, nature, and compassion, nature, self-nature, and great essence. Primordial purity and spontaneous accomplishment, the common ground and the ground of delusion. And its detailed explanation: Essence, primordial purity, free from expression. Nature, spontaneous accomplishment, complete in whatever appears. Compassion, all-pervasive, self-arising. Nature arises from strength, nature is unmade, appearing in all. Essence is pervasive and completely encompassing. Primordial purity, self-purified from defilements, because of spontaneous accomplishment, various things arise. The common ground appears to be established. Thus it is said. These are also important key points of the ground itself, so they should be understood with the eye of wisdom. Second, the specific explanation of the primordial ground of primordial purity has three parts: identifying the way the essence abides, elaborating on its nature, and reversing the ground of delusion from the aspect. The first is the primordial wisdom of self-arising awareness. The original Dharmakaya of primordial emptiness. The ultimate truth of the expanse. The state of the luminosity of the nature of reality. Samsara and nirvana, happiness and suffering, existence and non-existence, is and is not, liberation and delusion, awareness and non-awareness, etc., are not established in anything. As it says in the "String of Pearls": In the primordial purity of the very beginning, it cannot even be said to be merely delusion. Likewise, what is non-delusion? Therefore, delusion does not exist from the beginning. Thus it is said. And the secret, letterless

In the tantras, it says: For spontaneously arisen wisdom, there is no object to be applied to. There is no past. There is no future. There is nothing that appears in the present. There is no karma. There are no habitual tendencies. There is no ignorance. There is no mind. There is no intellect. There is no wisdom. There is no samsara. There is no nirvana. Even awareness itself does not exist. There is nothing that appears as wisdom. This is also called pure from the beginning, pure from the first, pure from the origin, pure from the beginning, pure from the very beginning. As it says in The Garland of Pearls: 'Ka (ཀ,Ka,Sanskrit seed syllable, 無, emptiness) is the first to arise, Purity exhausts the number of defilements.' Secondly, there are two ways to explain its nature in detail: the explanation of twofold wisdom and threefold wisdom. The first is: Because awareness has no substance, it relies on the inseparability of awareness and emptiness, the essence is the wisdom of primordial purity, free from thought; the nature is the spontaneously perfect wisdom, abiding in the deep, clear, primordial radiance. As it says in The Six Spaces: 'The essence is primordial purity, The nature is spontaneously perfect.' In terms of essence, it transcends the extremes of existence and non-existence; in terms of nature, it abides only in the aspect of manifestation. These two are inseparable in their own essence, abiding in the great perfection of liberation from extremes, as it says in Self-Liberation of Awareness: 'The stains of the four extremes are self-purified.' The explanation of threefold wisdom is divided into two: the brief indication of the essence and the detailed explanation of the nature. The first is: As it says in Self-Arisen: 'That ground of great primordial purity also possesses essence, nature, and compassion.' And as it says in Refutation: 'Where samsara and nirvana do not abide, The nature of reality is emptiness, pervading all, When wisdom abides in its own essence, The three aspects are inseparable.' And as it says in The Six Spaces: 'Wisdom itself has three aspects, The distinctions of the ground are shown in words.' And as it says in The Vajrasattva Heart Mirror: 'Know that all the dharmas of the ground are essence, nature, and compassion.' Secondly, there are three ways in which essence, nature, and compassion abide: According to this view of the supreme secret, the Dharmakaya abides in the form of essence that is pure from the beginning, therefore the three kayas abide on the basis of inseparable manifestation, but there are no faces or hands and feet that have characteristics and distinctions. The nature abides as the clear five lights, therefore the three radiances are self-luminous from the beginning, but
