It is extremely precious. Second, explaining the characteristics of the Dharmakaya, there are five aspects: essence, definition, classification, function, and the reason for the use of the name. First, the essence of the Dharmakaya is the awareness that is not contaminated by samsara, like the sky. As the *Abhisamayalankara* says, "The Dharmakaya is free from elaboration, without self-grasping characteristics, its essence is emptiness and clarity, inseparable." The *Mani Garland* says, "The Dharmakaya has exhausted defilements, empty and clear, clear and pervasive, not stained by thought, clear in memory, free from the nature of elaboration, pervasive and empty like the sky, free from all self-nature." Regarding the definition, as the *Abhisamayalankara* says, "The definition of Dharma is the correct path, the body is formed from it." There are three classifications, as the scripture says, "The classification is the Dharma, Sambhoga, and Nirmana bodies, distinguished by these three, differences arise." Regarding the function, it becomes pure through the operation of view, meditation, conduct, result, qualities, and activities. As the *Self-Emergence* says, "Unobstructed, unattached, without craving, is the conduct of the Dharmakaya. Serene and clear, without distraction, is the meditation of the Dharmakaya. Nothing to see, already seen, seeing is complete, is the view of the Dharmakaya. Without doing, without arising, without existence, is the result of the Dharmakaya. Without cultivation, already cultivated, cultivation is complete, is the activity of the Dharmakaya. One arises, two arise, everything arises, is the quality of the Dharmakaya." The reason for using the name: In the body of emptiness, things, and no characteristics, the qualities of power, fearlessness, and unmixed Dharma are perfected, therefore it is called Dharmakaya. As the scripture says, "Fearlessness, power, and clarity, all activities are perfected, is the definition of the Dharmakaya." The Dharmakaya mentioned here refers to the Dharmakaya as the basis, possessing the three characteristics of self-nature purity, essence, self-nature, and great compassion. As the *Self-Emergence* says, "Essence, self-nature, and great compassion, are the characteristics of the Dharmakaya." Second, the key to mind and wisdom lies in two aspects: the common classification is the general presentation, and the respective nature is the separate explanation. The first part is divided into five aspects: the real difference, the fault of not understanding, the way of teaching understanding, the essence of these two, and their respective places. First, the difference is that mind is

When the fault of being born into the nature of karma and habitual tendencies, which is the Dharma of the periphery, is possessed by awareness, it is called a sentient being. That mind causes the six realms of beings to be deluded individually. When that awareness is separated from the mind, it is called a Buddha free from sudden defilements. What is wisdom? It is the Dharma that transcends suffering, like a fire that has burned away karma and habitual tendencies, free from all conceptualizations, and is the nature of emptiness and clarity like the sky. As it says in the Garland of Pearls: "The mind is the basis of all habitual tendencies, it is the defilement of embodied beings. The mind grasps at the object of grasping, therefore it is the nature of samsara. When the mind is separated, it is enlightenment, purifying the defilement of all embodied beings. Beings wander because of the mind, otherwise they cannot wander. Therefore, beings are like a wandering wheel. The heart is free from all movement, it is not like an inanimate object, it knows, touches, and illuminates clearly. It burns all conceptualizations, wisdom itself devours like fire. It is equal to the sky itself, it is the nature of emptiness, clarity, and awareness. Therefore, wisdom shows forth light. Unseparated compassion arises naturally, pervading and connecting all, completing all Dharmas. Remembrance itself is non-remembrance, wisdom is free from the basis of remembrance." So it is. Secondly, if mind and wisdom are not distinguished, the root of phenomenal objects will not be severed, therefore there is the fault of the mind's object being a deluded appearance from which one cannot be liberated from samsara. As it says in the Lion's Strength Perfection: "If mind and wisdom are not distinguished, the root of phenomenal objects will not be severed, therefore it is difficult to realize the meaning of the faultless Dharma nature." So it is. Therefore, the mind's object is deluded, and it is difficult to realize the meaning of Dharma nature. Therefore, the deluded appearance of the mind's object is the Dharma of samsara, which can be summarized as the six: form, sound, smell, taste, touch, and Dharma. These appear from the habitual tendencies of the mind, like the appearance of hair falling in front of the eyes. Where does it appear? It appears in the deluded mind. The object of wisdom is the pure Dharma nature, like the sky, and the clear light appearance, vast like the realms of body and wisdom. Secondly, the fault of not knowing is: if one knows the nature of the mind, it is wisdom. This present appearance is the clear light of wisdom, and because of being mistaken about the words that say "realizing the mind is wisdom," the partial cause of not realizing the mind
