Now, the way of abiding is said to be abiding like threads in all places. Therefore, it teaches the very sutra of abiding. Also, as it says in the "String of Pearls": The body of the Buddhas is not generated and perfected in the center of the heart. The one unchanging body abides in the way of pervading everywhere. The one mind that pervades all abides in its own innate nature. The body of the Vajra threads abides continuously without interruption. Because the threads are numerous, the partial bodies are inconceivable. In the one that exists, all appearances appear completely to the non-existent. Also, as it says in the "Introduction Adorned": The meaning is that in the center of one's own body mandala, great wisdom abides in the heart. Also, as it says in the "Manjushri Illusion Net": The auspicious knot of blazing light. And so on. Second, there are three ways of abiding: the essence abides as the body, the nature abides as the bindu of light, and compassion abides as the lamp of wisdom. First, in the heart chakra abides the peaceful body, and from the power of its radiance, in the navel chakra abides the wrathful body. As it says in the "Adornment of Jewels": Ema! The way of abiding of awareness is to abide in the center of each citta. Holding the part of the two parents, it abides in the way of method and wisdom. Holding the part of the father is the body of method. Holding the part of the mother is the body of wisdom. It abides in the way of light and rays, well adorned with the sphere and awareness, it abides in the great spontaneously perfect bindu. Also, as it says in the "Overthrow": In the general body of all sentient beings, it pervades in the way of the wind of Dharma-nature. Subtle, light, moving, and separating, it abides as the body in the place of citta, the body of radiance holds the characteristics of each lineage in five forms. Also, as it says in the "Power Perfection": The store of the great ground of all, the source of Dharma, awareness and wisdom abide as a lump. The store of objects that do not grasp appearances, awareness and wisdom abide in the sphere. The store of the secret assembly of precious eight-sided, awareness and wisdom abide as the aspect of father and mother. The store of the life assembly of precious four-sided, awareness and wisdom abide in the bindu. The palace store of the meaning gathered in the bhāṇḍa, awareness and wisdom abide as the wrathful body. The store of the two unobstructed and clear gates, abides in the sphere and the threads. The store of emptiness, signlessness, and sky, awareness and wisdom abide in light. This is what is taught as the secret store. And so on. Second, the nature abides in the bindu of light.

The way of abiding is: In the "Ornamental Arrangement of Jewels," the way of abiding of the bindu is shown as follows: In the channels, the bindu abides like the body. The size of the large is equal to the edge of the sky, the size of the small is about one-tenth of a horse's tail. The clarity is like the disc of the sun and moon, and it also has clear, shining splendor, and has the characteristics of going, coming, and abiding. So it is said. Third, compassion abides in the lamp, in the "Self-Arisen" it says: That is also the four lamps, abiding in a way that is uninterrupted. So it is said. Third, the metaphors are: The essence abides in the body, like the body of a vase; the nature abides in the light, like a butter lamp in a vase; compassion abides in the rays of light, like the rays of the sun. In the "Complete Transformation" it says: In the mind (Citta, चित्त, citta, 意) which is like a precious palace, the essence is pure from the beginning, the union of emptiness and clarity is the image of the body, the complete face and limbs are the shape of a vase body, the spontaneously accomplished abides in a mass of light, and the colors of compassion are clear and distinct. So it is said. The metaphor for the light of nature is, in the "Perfected Skill" it says: Inwardly clear like a lamp in a vase. And the metaphor for compassion is also said there: The rays of the lamp are like the disc of the sun, the rays of the lamp are endless. And, in the presence of Vimalamitra: The body is like an inwardly clear vase body, the light is like a butter lamp in a vase, wisdom is like a peacock's egg. So it is said. To say that the body is the size of a mustard seed and the eyes can see far away is an old saying, meaning it is suitable. Some say that wisdom is transferred, this is the movement of wind. If it is transferred, the body and mind will be separated. The second general meaning is about revealing the key of the secret supreme king, which is divided into two: the key of the alaya and the dharmakaya, and the key of mind and wisdom. The first part has a general classification and a separate explanation. First, the alaya is the root of samsara, so it is like a reservoir for all habits; the dharmakaya is the root of nirvana, so it is free from all habits, and is the exhaustion of defilements. In the "Pearl Garland" it says: The alaya is the place of accumulation, the dharmakaya is the exhaustion of defilements. And, the alaya with cause and condition, in order to accumulate habits, is like a reservoir. The dharmakaya is free from habits. From the aggregation of mind and so on, the alaya of sentient beings appears as many. The dharmakaya is free from mind and so on,
