It is the lotus family. Since awareness has spontaneously accomplished activities, it is the karma family. Thus, the five families have always existed, and now they appear as symbols of the five faculties. As the Vajra Mirror says: The eye is said to be the vajra family. The ear is the meaningful karma family. The nose is the great lotus family. Likewise, the tongue is the ratna family. The body is said to be the tathagata family. So it is. Fifth, the five winds are combined with the five objects of desire that are close to the senses. In detail, it has been shown before, but to explain it briefly, it is called the wind that dwells with fire because it brings down the warmth of awareness and wisdom. It holds the life of samsara and nirvana, so it is the life-holding wind. The five wisdom lights are inherently present, so it is the wind that generates radiance and splendor. It sends to the right place, so it is the moving wind. It liberates from samsara and nirvana, so it is the merciless kalpa wind. As it is also said in Rangshar: Thus, the nature of the five winds dwells in all sentient beings. And again: Because it moves to the right place, it is called the moving wind. Because it holds the life of pure wisdom, it is called the life-holding wind. Because the five wisdom lights are inherently present, it is called the wind that generates radiance and splendor. Because wisdom can liberate into the realm of purity, it is called the merciless kalpa wind. Because there is no separation from the appearance of wisdom, it is called the wind that dwells with fire. So it is. Sixth, the five dharmas of essence, nature, and compassion are summarized into the three kayas of the wisdom of the ground, that is, the five essences are combined with the kayas of the five plans, the five natures are combined with the appearance of the five lights, and the five compassions are combined with the five wisdoms. In the Buddhafield, there is the compassion of self-nature force, the compassion that meets with conditioned objects, the compassion that is urged and prayed for, the compassion of various activities, and the compassion of unchanging disciples, which are the five kinds of appearances that arise from the part of the planning that is spontaneously accomplished in the wisdom of awareness. Awareness itself also abides in the five wisdoms, and because it abides in the discriminating wisdom, it distinguishes the phenomena of appearance and awareness as different. It abides in the gathering wisdom.

Because it exists, everything is complete within itself. Since appearance and awareness pervade everything, it arises as the wisdom of pervasion. Relying on the wind of wisdom, awareness moves in the sky, therefore it abides as the wisdom of movement. The life force of both samsara and nirvana is severed by the nature of reality, therefore it arises as the wisdom of liberation. Furthermore, awareness itself exists in the threefold form of body, light, and wisdom. The essence abides as the body, therefore knowable things naturally appear. The nature abides as light, therefore luminosity increases in space. Compassion abides as wisdom, therefore activities appear without bias. Now, if one considers a yogi, at the time of equipoise it is the Dharmakaya, at the time when it is not separated after equipoise it is the Sambhogakaya, and after that it is the Nirmanakaya. From Self-Arisen it says: Awareness abiding without thought is the Dharmakaya. Awareness being clear without cessation is the Sambhogakaya. Awareness appearing as anything is the Nirmanakaya. Such three states abide as the nature of the Three Jewels, complete from the beginning. From the Sixth Space it says: Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha abide in one's own body, complete from the beginning. And from the Garland of Pearls it says: In this deluded body with thoughts, the stainless and pure Dharmakaya abides in a way that is not sought. How to explain the extensive abiding state in conjunction with purity? From Self-Arisen it says: Likewise, the Buddhas of the three times are explained as one's own great appearance. That is, the three of body, speech, and mind. Speech is the past Buddha, mind is the future Buddha, body is the present Buddha. The three Buddhas abide in that way. And from the Garland of Pearls it says: Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, teacher, place, retinue, and time, Dharmakaya, Sambhogakaya, Nirmanakaya, Vinaya, Sutra, Abhidharma, Shravaka, Pratyekabuddha, Bodhisattva. And it says: All the white dharmas of the past are complete in body and mind. And it says: Because it is complete in itself, there is no place to find it by searching elsewhere. If combined with similar purity, then all phenomena of existence, samsara, and nirvana are said to be complete in body and mind. From that very text it says: Earth, water, fire, and wind, space, and the sun and moon, male and female forms, planets, stars, and clouds, trees, mountains, and rocks, roots, trunks, and branches.
