Son, in reality, emptiness and form are not separate; what is shown as merely the magical display of clear appearance is the purity of samsara. Regarding this, there are two well-explained purities: the general purity and the specific purity. First, if we explain the general purity, everything appears as merely the play of self-arising from primordial emptiness. For example, something appears like a coarse rope, but in reality, it is individual strands of hair. These hairs, too, are like indivisible, empty particles. Although it appears as a coarse illusion, in reality, it is the self-arising emptiness that is free from the three phases of arising, abiding, and ceasing. As it is said in the Garland of Pearls: All these diverse appearances, Are like seeing a snake in a rope. By grasping what is not that as that, The outer and inner, vessel and essence, are formed. If examined, the rope itself, Vessel and essence, are primordially empty. Ultimate and relative are forms. Seeing the snake is true in seeing it, Seeing the rope is true in its correctness. Like a bird appearing high up, The nature of the two truths, Is merely worldly convention, Without connection to true reality. In the sphere of emptiness itself, All its entities are liberated. So it is said. Furthermore, the dharmas such as the aggregates, within the state of awareness, appear to awareness like clouds in the sky, yet they are not tainted by awareness. They remain clear in their emptiness, like illusions and emanations. As it is said in the Uttaratantra: The aggregates are like illusions and emanations. So it is said. Where do these abide? Like the vessel and essence abiding in space, the aggregates, elements, and sense bases abide in karma and afflictions. These are merely self-arising from conceptual thoughts. They abide in the emptiness of mind itself. Therefore, it is empty in the beginning, empty now, and empty in the end, abiding free from the three phases of arising, abiding, and ceasing. As it is said in that very text: Earth abides in water, water in wind, Wind thoroughly abides in space. Space does not abide in wind and water, Nor in the element of earth. Likewise, the aggregates, elements, and faculties, Abide in karma and afflictions. Karma and afflictions are not as they are, Non-as-they-are is attention, Which thoroughly abides in the purity of mind. The nature of mind, all dharmas, Does not abide in anything at all. So it is said. Although they appear to arise, abide, and cease, they are not established as those (arising, abiding, and ceasing) at the time of abiding. As it is said in the Secret Essence Tantra of Magical Illusion: Ema, wondrous and marvelous dharma! From the unborn, all arise. In the very arising, there is no arising. Ema, in the very abiding, there is no abiding. Ema, in the very ceasing, there is no ceasing.

Thus it is. As it is said in the Root Wisdom: Like a dream, like an illusion, like a city of Gandharvas. Thus it is born, thus it abides, thus it is also said to perish. Thus it is. All phenomena of appearance and existence, from the very moment of appearance, are free from the extremes of arising and ceasing, elaboration. As it is said in that very text: 'By what is dependent arising? There is no cessation, no arising. There is no cutting off, no permanence. There is no coming, no going. Not different, not one meaning. Elaboration is utterly pacified, relying on peace.' Thus it is. (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal meaning: Special alternatives) is all the appearances of the three realms of samsara. Initially, it is also grasped as a part of the element, so that each part can be combined like an image. However, in meaning, the nature of reality abides in emptiness. Now, at the time of appearance, the aggregates and elements are combined as parts of the body and wisdom. The nature of the three doors being liberated into body, speech, and mind is the appearance of birth, old age, sickness, and death, arising as a play of the wisdom of the dharmadhatu. All actions and appearances are the view and meditation of the nature of reality, the pure explanation of the great self-arising. In the 'Refutation of Extremes': 'Furthermore, what is to be well explained is that the very nature of the illusion of appearance was not previously seen as wisdom. Since the illusion with conceptualization has no basis, realize the alaya as the great dharmakaya. The self-thought of illusion is cut off. Thus, the appearance without illusion arises from the key point of original liberation. The aggregates of beings are the body of the Buddha. Who has not realized that it is originally so? The aggregates are the lords of the Buddha, arising from the letters established in the root place. Like a bubble from the eye, who has not seen wisdom as self-appearing? From that illusion of appearance arises from the key point of the lamp. Furthermore, the very conduct of the body, for the sake of liberation into the three kayas, all actions are the nature of reality. Whatever is spoken in the mouth is the secret mantra, the secret recitation, arising from the key point of the transformation of letters. The collections of thoughts of the minds of beings, how is it not known as meditation? Since one is liberated from realizing one's own mind, that arises from the key point of arising. Thus, since everything is the nature of reality, there is nothing to be taken, and there is not even a little to be abandoned. The nature of reality is where there is nothing. From actions, speech, and thoughts, realize the key point of liberation from samsara and nirvana. There is not a single being who has not become a Buddha. The three realms.'
