Thus it is said. Third, to summarize the meaning through the sequence of faculties, there are two: the detailed classification of the faculties and the detailed explanation of their respective natures. The first is twenty-one, from the Self-Arisen: There are three types of faculties: superior, intermediate, and inferior. The superior has seven types: the lowest of the superior, the middle of the superior, the highest of the superior, the excellent of the superior, the supreme of the superior, the peak of the superior, and the perfection of the superior. This is the classification of the superior. That is, the way of seeing, the way of the arising of the appearance of wisdom, the degree of realization, the way of the arising of appearance, the time of understanding, the way of seeing knowledge arises, and thus one gains stability in one's own appearance. The intermediate also has seven types: the lowest of the intermediate, the middle of the intermediate, the highest of the intermediate, the excellent of the intermediate, the supreme of the intermediate, the peak of the intermediate, and the perfection of the intermediate. In this, there also arises a degree of the arising of wisdom. This is the classification of the intermediate. The inferior also has seven types: the lowest of the inferior, the middle of the inferior, the highest of the inferior, the supreme of the inferior, the excellent of the inferior, the peak of the inferior, and the culmination of the inferior. Thus it is said. The second has three: generally explaining the nature of liberation and delusion, specifically explaining the manner of liberation of the faculties, and concluding with the sequence of the manner of absorption. The first is: At the time of these appearances of reality, those who recognize their own nature are liberated through the sequence of the twenty-one faculties; those who do not recognize their own nature then arise in a sequence of delusion, like the manner of delusion of sentient beings from the previous basic appearance. From the Union of Sun and Moon: There is also a detailed explanation of the twenty-one faculties. There, those who do not contain their own knowledge and who have not previously had the instructions of a lama are frightened, alarmed, discouraged, terrified, and lose their concepts, etc., by that appearance, and thus again take up the causes of samsara, that is, they are deluded by the distinctions of the twenty-one faculties. The manner of delusion is: the lowest of the inferior is deluded by forms, etc., there are seven; the lowest of the intermediate is deluded by the absence of place, etc., there are seven; the lowest of the superior is deluded by grasping, etc., there are seven; these twenty-one are clearer than the usual state, as described above. From the Self-Arisen: Sentient beings in the bardo
