Just as it is not found elsewhere, the three kayas and pure lands are also shown to be solely within one's own awareness. The Nirmanakaya arises from nothing, the Sambhogakaya enjoys itself, and the Dharmakaya lacks inherent existence. The result is the realm where the three kayas are spontaneously accomplished. The essence of awareness transcends expression, and the absence of a basis for the establishment of entities and characteristics is the Dharmakaya. Having realized this completely, awareness itself spontaneously operates in that state, remaining in its natural state without interruption, the basis of self-illumination is the Sambhogakaya. The aspect of compassion arising unceasingly from clarity and purity is the Nirmanakaya. Thus, the three kayas are not separate from awareness itself, but are self-arisen wisdom. As stated in the Magical Net Secret: "Wonderful bodies and Buddha-fields, are not elsewhere, but are the state of self-arisen wisdom." Thus, samsara and nirvana do not move from the one awareness. Therefore, the key to the liberation of samsara and nirvana upon the liberation of one awareness is shown to be extremely profound. Those five ways of liberation are also explained in the Garland of Pearls, with essence and examples: In unobstructed awareness, there is no cause for confusion, so there is no turning back. Since it is primordially liberated, it transcends dependence. Since it is self-liberated, objective conditions are exhausted. Since it is liberated upon seeing, appearances are purified. Since it is liberated at the limit, the four extremes cease. Since one is liberated, the many are emptiness. Since conditions are liberated by conditions, I do not rely on objects of focus. Since objects are liberated by objects, I do not rely on the apprehended and the apprehender. Since causes are liberated by causes, I do not rely on samsara and nirvana. Since phenomena are liberated by phenomena, I do not rely on words and expressions. Since mind is liberated by mind, I do not rely on the signifying intellect. Just as dirt is washed away by dirt, so purity is liberated by purity. Just as poison destroys poisons, iron cuts iron, stone breaks stone, and wood burns wood. Each enemy is made by itself, not liberated by a different kind. Thus, the six agreements of the five ways of liberation and their essence are completed. Now, from the sequence of entrusting the key points of view into the nature of reality, the agreement to bind the state equal to space, beyond thought and expression: From the vast expanse of Bodhicitta, in the form of memory

Thoughts do not arise, the characteristics of consciousness do not waver in the mind, that itself is the single intent of the Buddha. Among the three—essence, nature, and compassion—first, the certainty of the state of essence is that mind itself arises and dissolves in the realm of non-thought and non-contemplation, free from hope and fear, and remains openly and expansively. As the Great Garuda says: The ground of non-meditation is self-awareness; beyond sound and intellect, the field beyond all; self-liberation with focus, what need is there for fabrication? So it is said. And as the All-Creating King says: In the nature of enlightenment, which is without acceptance or rejection, abiding like the sky, there is no need to fabricate body and mind; without concepts or clinging, there is no need to meditate; utterly peaceful like the sky, free from all turbidity; not entering into objects, intent free from focusing on objects. So it is said. The binding of awareness into great clarity and emptiness is like the nature of enlightenment, the expanse of the sky; without memory or thought, it is the supreme meditation; one's own nature unwavering, without fabrication; non-thinking, devoid of mental activity; natural state, unchanging in the three times; if there is no movement of conceptual thought, it is the supreme meditation; the nature of awareness is clear light, like the sun and moon unobscured, appearing in the expanse of the sky. In the state of self-luminous nakedness, without the scattering of conceptual thoughts, remaining naturally, spontaneously manifest in one's own nature. As the Great Garuda says: The key to unmeditated, spontaneous wisdom is the absence of fabrication; the self-appearance, free from causes and conditions, is unobscured; effortless, unique, unmade by anyone; the spontaneously accomplished essence of primordial perfection enjoys the realm. So it is said. That is because conceptual thought is the antithesis of the clarity of the natural state, and because it is without limit, there is no ground for placement. Therefore, one must abide in the self-liberation of non-thought, the self-clarity of naked nature. As the All-Creating King says: Conceptual thoughts regarding objects are beyond the count of characteristics; they cannot be grasped by effort, thought destroys thought; like turbidity in water, it deceives children. So it is said. Spontaneous liberation, unbound and naked, is suchness, the sacred mind that abides; the sole symbol of the Buddha, free from all; the unwavering dharmadhatu, beyond grasping and thought; the expanse of the Victorious Ones' intent, the supreme nature of vastness; abandoning all fabricated bonds of body and mind, letting go, relaxing, whatever thoughts or memories may arise, the fundamental ground does not waver from its natural state; all is the intent of Kuntuzangpo.
