When awareness abides in its own place, there is neither good nor bad in the two kinds of appearances. Awareness itself remains and arises, it is merely an appearance, and it does not move elsewhere. As it is said in the Vajra Tent Tantra: 'As long as it emanates from the mind, that is the nature of the protector. Are water and waves different?' It is like that. Similarly, existence and non-existence, buddhas and sentient beings, conventional and ultimate, faults and virtues, all are equal in the realm of awareness without being born. They are equal in mere appearance without ceasing. They are equal from appearance to non-existence and in the empty form of clear appearance. Even if divided into high and low, and directions, they are equal in the state of the sky. Therefore, since there is no good or bad in the initial arising, there should be no acceptance or rejection. In the middle, since there is equality in abiding, it should be left to self-pacify. In the end, since there is equality in dissolving into its own disappearance, there should be no welcoming or following. Here, it is taught that there should be no placing or focusing. As it is said in the All-Creating King Tantra: 'The entirely unborn, completely pure samadhi, depends entirely on conditions whether one meditates or not. All the phenomena that appear as objects of meditation, without any way of placing them anywhere, meditating is leaving them naturally in their own place.' Now, to summarize the meaning of these into the great equality of dharmata: Everything arises from the ground, the essence of bodhichitta, in an uncertain manner as power and play. Even when appearing equally, it arises from the primordial space. Even when appearing unequally, it arises from the realm of equality. Even when abiding equally, it abides naturally in dharmata. Even when abiding unequally, it abides in the realm of equality. Even when liberating equally, it is in the space of self-born wisdom. Even when liberating unequally, it liberates in the realm of equality. In this state of awareness, like the sky, the various plays of self-arising without interruption of the gates of appearance from the power of compassion, all phenomena, whether the five poisons and other samsaric dharmas, or wisdom and other nirvanic dharmas, all vehicles that appear as good or bad, high or low, are purified into the nature of a dream. Therefore, in meaning, there is no good or bad, no acceptance or rejection. In the vast palace of dharmadhatu, they gather together equally and completely without being born, just as the sun, moon, planets, and stars gather in the sky. In Awareness Self-Liberated it says: 'For example, in the empty sky, the sun and moon gather together. In the vast palace of dharma, various'
