Uniquely free from elaboration, the distinctions of mind are beyond expression. Thus it is. As for focusing on appearances: Not abandoning by abandoning, it is the power of awareness that encompasses all conceptualizations. In the nature of reality, there is no separation or limitation, so without accomplishment, it is accomplished, and appears in the realm of reality. Without abandoning samsara, it is seen as self-arisen wisdom by the yogis of the great expanse of power. When appearances of objects arise unceasingly in the clear mirror of awareness, and the power of compassion in awareness is unceasing, recognizing the objects, grounds, and paths, like meeting face to face, although its essence is without conceptualization, when it appears as if it is conceptualizing, do not reject it outwardly, do not gather it inwardly, do not hold it in the middle, but let it be in its own state, not straying from the nature of reality. Clear awareness is the basis of all appearances. If it appears as the five objects, it self-arises as the five Buddhas. If it appears as the five elements, it naturally abides as the five great mothers. If it appears as the five poisons, it appears in the realm as great wisdom. Whatever appears, it is not other than its own nature. Since oneself abides in the dharmakaya, empty and clear, knowing that there is no defilement if one does not grasp onto it, this is called the mind of Vajrasattva, the dharmakaya without clarity or obscurity. From that which is without letters: Focusing on appearances is the great method of awareness, the basis of all great appearances. The appearances of the five elements appear as the path of the Buddhas. The five great ones themselves appear as the appearances of the mothers. In a state of non-distraction, rest in the great non-grasping. The five great wisdoms of the great secret mantra, rest in the unmoving realm with the five great ones. Focusing the awareness of Vajrasattva shows all the appearances of the dharmakaya. By focusing on the appearances of pure wisdom, the secret method of abiding, the nature of the method of focusing. The appearances of the body, the five elements are not abandoned, not abandoned, rest in their own meaning. Thus it is. This method is to prevent awareness from being obscured by conditions, it is the instruction on how the appearances of conditions arise as the clarification of awareness. It should be cherished by all three: beginners, intermediates, and those who have gained some stability. For one, it transforms the harm of conditions into the path; for another, it is the practice of the power of the path and appears as a mirror; for another, it is the method of naturally arising to increase power without laziness. That is, when the objects of the five senses appear, or when strong affirmation and negation, attachment, and afflictions arise in the mind, awareness becomes scattered.

Therefore. The clear and transparent half, the essence of which is naked and completely exposed, is clear. This principle is extensively explained in the Heap of Jewels. When phenomena appear as having characteristics, my qualities naturally manifest, and I neither accept nor reject them. When sentient beings experience suffering, my bliss naturally arises. At that time, there is no distinction between pleasure and pain, and my qualities are perfected in this. When the realms of hell, animals, and hungry ghosts appear as forms and places, my body enjoys them. Those who have no fear of this, my body touches this. When strong attachments of ignorance, hatred, and desire arise, my awareness is non-conceptual. This self-liberates, and my eyes see this. When thoughts of the mind appear outwardly, my wisdom is self-purifying. Without subsequent investigation, my sounds are all heard by this. When gatherings of thoughts and concepts occur, my non-conceptual samadhi is excellent. Without clinging thoughts, my smells are all sensed by this. When coarse forms enter the mind, my self-appearing experience arises. When one and two are exhausted in this, this experiences in my taste. Thus, all that appears and is heard manifests as the play of Kuntuzangpo (Samantabhadra). Because the manifestation of play is uninterrupted, my qualities naturally arise. The manifestation of qualities is only this, it will not be exhausted, there is no exhaustion. Therefore, the field of the three kayas and mudras. Thus it is said. Here, practice by tasting as one in the non-duality of appearance and awareness. It is especially important not to mix with common methods. Looking at what appears is conceptual delusion. Letting go is dark meditation without recognizing one's own nature. If you cut off without losing experience and seek clarity in the middle, you will fall into the bias of acceptance and rejection. They do not have the key to self-arising, just as there is no great conceptualization of a dog on a felt rug. Here, the certainty of the secret essence of the heart essence is that, whenever appearance or arising occurs, the naked awareness should be grasped, without relying on anything else. At that time, the naked awareness that cuts off the connection of the three times of mind naturally arises as the intention of the Dharmakaya, and is spontaneously accomplished in the great perfection of luminosity. To this, no matter what appears, do not recall the past, do not think about the future, do not judge the present, but awareness.
