It transcends the realm of gradual practice. It is unsuitable for lesser vehicles, as it causes them to panic and fear. However, it is suitable for the most excellent yogis of meaning. As stated in the Kunjed Gyalpo Tantra: "Do not reveal this teaching of mine, the All-Creating King, to those who adhere to the vehicle of cause and effect. If you must reveal this teaching of mine, and they say that virtuous and evil actions have causes and effects, thus falsely accusing me, they will never meet me again." It also says: "Without dwelling, without thinking, what need is there? In the realm of non-thought and equality, nature abides. Having been accomplished from the beginning, the mind of effort does not arise. Whoever abides in that great bliss, it becomes the essence of all dharmas." Here, the rejection of wrong views that attack the meaning with contradictory examples is as follows: Some say, "It is definitely accomplished by cause and effect, just as a sprout arises from a seed." Others say, "The nature of mind is like space." These two, achieving Buddhahood with the nature of one mind, contradict each other because the two examples of the conditioned and the unconditioned are contradictory. Therefore, the common vehicle does not have the opportunity to quickly achieve Buddhahood. Why? Because things are also other, and achieving through cause and effect and effort is also merely another illusion. To achieve the nature of non-illusion with illusion is contradictory in nature. If the nature of mind is like space, all-pervasive, then the example of cause and effect is meaningless, so the example and meaning contradict each other, so this is not reasonable. Even if it is said to be spontaneously accomplished, it contradicts being produced by causes and conditions. In the common teachings, it says: "Uncreated and spontaneously accomplished." These two are inherently contradictory. Furthermore, it is extremely contradictory to establish the meaning by using the example of the arising of the world for the nature of mind being like space, so it is not like that. As the Kunjed Gyalpo Tantra says: "Since Dzogchen is beyond cause and effect from the beginning, there is nothing to be accomplished by searching and practicing. The prophecies of the teachers who see cause and effect, measuring the phenomena of the world with signs, searching from the cause and wanting to achieve the result. The mind has no cause and no result from the beginning, because the mind of enlightenment has no arising, taking the example of the phenomena of the arising of the world, do not falsely claim that destruction arises from arising. Without realizing that the self-arisen is beyond cause and effect,

By placing hope on the teachings of conditioned phenomena, saying that seeking from causes will produce results, this is the correct teaching of the causal vehicle. That incomparable wisdom that does not arise from causes, since it generates everything, dharma does not arise from elsewhere. By placing worldly cause and effect on the teachings, seeking will not produce a non-existent result. Bodhicitta arises without cause or condition, do not place worldly arising and ceasing on the teachings. Since bodhicitta is not generated by conditions, do not take worldly conditioned phenomena as an example. Thus it is said. The essence of bodhicitta is not generated by anything, but arises naturally and is immutable, so there is no place to seek it from causes and conditions, like the sky. Bodhicitta is the basis from which all dharmas arise outward, but it is not necessary to generate it inward, so even if the method of generation is wrong, it will not accomplish what is to be generated. Therefore, abiding in the state of non-action, the spontaneously accomplished qualities are clearly manifested, and it is accomplished without seeking. As it is said in the scriptures: Abiding in its nature, unmoving, spontaneously accomplished. Abiding in its nature, no one can change it. Not seeking, abiding in such a state, this is considered the supreme action among non-actions. Understanding this meaning, one does not create actions, and not creating actions, one abides in suchness. Whoever abides in suchness, he will accomplish without error and without fabrication. Thus it is said. Thus, the definite sign of realizing the fruition of awareness that transcends causal effort is: everything is the realm of the dharmakaya, like the great bliss of space, in the realm of the dharmakaya there is no one who is not liberated. The vajra essence body that naturally arises from dharmata, the habitual body perfects the power of the essence, abandoning the body of existence in birth, death, and bardo, the single awareness is inseparable from everything, and having seized the kingdom of the spontaneously accomplished ground, emanations arise without limit, and entering into everything without obstruction, this is the realm of the yogis who ride the wind of non-action, although it is not suitable for all inferior vehicles, in Atiyoga, this is the key point of indicating the fruition. Here, relying on diligence and fortune, the superior ones naturally liberate their bodies like mist, the intermediate ones liberate like the sky in a vase, and the inferior ones liberate like the sun and moon on the fifteenth day. Among these three, the superior ones can reverse and understand the four visions of trekchö.
