From the Sutra of Adornment of the Earth Vision: "That which is not conceived by complete conceptualization, the mind that does not abide, without memory and without mental activity, to that which is without object, I prostrate and bow." Thus it is said. From the King of Samadhi Sutra: "Without object and without characteristics, without conceptualization and without elaboration, the unborn is suchness." Thus it is said. From the Mother Sutra: "Subhuti, all dharmas are by nature profound and without elaboration." Thus it is said. Because of believing in such scriptural statements, wise ones who desire liberation should always meditate. Introducing the joy of such meditation to the yogi as an ornament of the mind: Whatever conceptual thoughts of characteristics arise, they dissolve in the natural state like waves in water. Relax and cherish not losing the pure state of nature. When meditating in such a deep, peaceful, uncollected, and undiverted state like the ocean, if thoughts that scatter to objects arise, recognize the arising without following, do not negate the essence, relax into self-pacification, and do not lose the pure state of previous meditation. Thus, conceptual thoughts like waves will self-pacify in the state of clear light, because they arise from the nature of mind and dissolve in its state, therefore there is no difference. The Great Brahmin sang the Song of Innate Vajra: "As long as thoughts emanate from the mind, that is the nature of the Protector, are water and waves different?" Thus it is said. "Water and fire, rest in the self-luminous, single state, I neither take nor abandon coming and going." Thus it is said. From the All-Creating King Sutra: "The dharma nature that cannot be meditated upon is Bodhi, non-distraction, cutting off hope and fear is meditation." Thus it is said. "In the unborn dharma nature of Bodhi, whatever characteristics of mind and mental factors arise, without fixating on 'it should be placed like this,' if the ground is placed like that, there is no distraction." Thus it is said. If a beginner is distracted, they should immediately rest in the state of previous realization. From the Ornament of the Sutras: "Having placed the mind on the object, do not let its continuum be distracted, having quickly realized distraction, one should again apply it to that." Thus it is said. How to meditate? Without sinking, without dullness, without agitation, without attachment, without wavering, separated from all activities, with clear samadhi, the stream of wisdom is uninterrupted, meditate on the co-emergent, self-born wisdom. This is the extremely profound essential instruction.

It is the ground. Whether wind, or element, or awareness, whichever is comfortable, at any time of meditating in a natural state, the awareness is not dull or obscured, thoughts are not wild, not attached to the meditative experience, not wavering from its nature, not sensing the movement of breathing in and out, meditating in a clear and bright state without being tainted by thoughts. Moreover, speculation, attachment to joy and bliss, and breathing in and out are faults of meditation. Because breath is wild, it is the horse of discursive thoughts, so it is considered a fault. Thus, when abiding in the state of clear depth, it is inseparable from the wisdom of self-arisen luminosity, so wisdom is continuous, and this meaning should be constantly cultivated. When such meditation is perfected, eyes and clairvoyance will arise from it, day and night meditation will increase, and the clouds of dharani and the sun of wisdom will arise from within. From familiarizing oneself with this unerring samadhi, just as an image appears in clear water, clairvoyance arises from the clear aspect of awareness, and even with mountains and houses obstructing, one can actually see the realms of others and so forth, obtaining unobstructed miraculous eyes, passing day and night in a single continuous samadhi, obtaining dharani that does not forget vast words and meanings, and the wisdom of shamatha and vipashyana will arise from within. By this method, the channels and winds become workable, the accumulation of qualities increases, surpassing the grounds, and the two types of accomplishments are obtained. Therefore, familiarize yourself with such key points. By making the channels and winds workable, joy and bliss arise in body and mind, and many qualities such as samadhi and transformation are obtained, and immeasurable qualities of the grounds and paths are also obtained, attaining temporary accomplishments, the common eight siddhis, and ultimately the supreme accomplishment, the state of Buddhahood. The eight siddhis are: flying in the sky, sword, pill, swift feet, vase, Yaksha servant, essence extraction, and eye medicine. Among them, flying in the sky is being able to abide in the sky without dying. The sword is being able to destroy the enemy's army with it. The pill is that by accomplishing a certain medicine and holding it in hand, the body becomes invisible. Swift feet is that by accomplishing shoes and wearing them, one can circle the ocean in an instant. The vase is that the food, wealth, clothes, and other utensils inside it are inexhaustible.
