In the meaning of the ground completion stage of luminosity, one should abide in equipoise. Luminosity. Moreover, without means, wisdom does not arise, so first seek meditation with various means. Just as a sprout arises from many causes and conditions, the arising of wisdom also does not manifest merely by having it within oneself, so one must rely on various means. What are they? From the support of an object of focus, non-objectivity arises, and from that, the wisdom of reality arises. Therefore, the order of first generating calm abiding should also be meditated upon as spoken in one's own lineage. That is, non-objectivity arises from relying on an object of focus. As it says in the Ornament of the Sutras: "Relying on an object of focus, non-objectivity is greatly born." So it is. That very thing should be meditated upon according to one's preference, as the various tantras teach in different ways. Occasion. Here, a brief summary is shown: the root places in the body, and the winds and elements in them, because they rely on their own nature, it is important to skillfully manipulate those key points. In this context of practicing the three combined, inseparable father and mother tantras, it is important to skillfully manipulate the key points of the three channels, winds, and bindus, because one identifies and meditates on the arising of wisdom from the means of these three. That is, when the channel becomes the key point, the body is the key; when the wind becomes the key point, life is the key; and when the bindu becomes the key point, effort is important. Here, some father tantra schools of secret mantra consider the mere clarity and bliss of the knowledge arising from the means of wind alone to be ultimate truth, and some mother tantra schools consider the mere bliss, clarity, and non-conceptuality arising from the bindu to be ultimate truth, and holding the view that relying solely on those means is supreme is not the path to liberation. As it says in the Accomplishment of Wisdom: "What is the bellows of the body, and what is the one who blows the bellows? Those yogis who do not see the difference suppress the activity of the bellows." So it is. The bliss that arises from the two organs, if that generates wisdom, then speak of it. The Victorious One has not said that it is great bliss. Great bliss is not impermanent, great bliss is always permanent. That which arises from scratching the armpit, why is it not great bliss? So it is. Therefore, since it is not the actual path, one should not be attached to it, but since it is a condition for the path, one should not abandon it until it is complete, but should strive. First, if one has not trained in the combination of the life wind, then the elements will not be serviceable.

The method of meditating on the winds is as follows: Straighten the body and sit in the vajra posture. Place the hands on the knees, slightly raise the neck, and keep the breath steady and the eyes still. Exhale the impure air and inhale the gentle air. Combine the breaths and visualize the three channels clearly, along with their colors, numbers, sensations, and shapes. Thoughts will naturally cease, and one will abide in clarity and purity. Recognize the wisdom of non-thought and practice vipassana. The key to the body is to sit in the lotus position, with the hands placed on the knees, the neck raised, and the eyes still. Hold the breath steady for a moment, then exhale three to six breaths. Visualize the three channels as pillars, with the crown, throat, heart, and navel chakras as four umbrellas of light. The lower ends of the two side channels connect to the hairline and merge into the central channel. The upper ends are at the two nostrils, from which the air enters the central channel, giving rise to clarity, bliss, and the wisdom of non-thought. Combine the upper and lower breaths, and without distraction, focus on the shape and color of the breath. In summer, practice the fire element; in autumn, the wind element; in winter, the water element; and in spring, the earth element. Alternatively, practice the reverse, or only the air element, or practice according to the illness and constitution. The earth element is yellow, the water element is white, the fire element is red, the wind element is green, and the air element is blue. Their shapes can be square, crescent, triangular, bow-shaped, or circular. After combining the breaths, hold the breath as long as possible, and when exhaling slowly, retain a little breath. Visualize the color and shape as before, in the central channel, at the location of the heart, and also visualize it in the center of the four chakras. When one element is stable, visualize the water element in the bliss chakra, the earth element in the enjoyment chakra, the air element in the heart chakra, and the fire element in the navel chakra. This will bring about the signs of being able to control the five winds, with inner awareness clear and without thought, and the ability to see various empty forms. The sign of the right channel's air entering the central channel is the appearance of smoke. The sign of the left channel's air entering is the appearance of a mirage. The fire element appears as a candle and burning light. The water element appears as clouds and the moonlight in the sky.
