Like the wheel of a lamp, mutually dependent, this conditioned phenomenon is considered samsara. Thus it is said. Now, the nature of the Dharmadhatu, which transcends all characteristics of conventional truth, the essence of self-nature purity, will be explained in detail. By any cause or condition, the unchanging nature of ultimate truth is the radiant Tathagatagarbha, spontaneously accomplished, the indivisible Dharmata of emptiness and clarity. The naturally uncompounded wisdom of one's own awareness, emptiness and clarity, free from elaboration, is the essence of the Sugata. As it says in the Uttaratantra: 'As it was before, so it is afterwards, the Dharmata without change.' Thus it is. In Secret Mantra, the root tantra of the ground is considered to be pure by nature, therefore, this is the mandala of self-nature spontaneous accomplishment, possessing the essence of primordial perfect Bodhicitta, pure, free from elaboration, free from all partiality. Profound and peaceful Dharmakaya and wisdom are inseparable. The self-awareness, radiant, spontaneously accomplished, transcending expression, which dwells in all beings, is the essence in which the qualities of Dharmakaya and wisdom are primordially complete. It is the Bodhicitta inherent within oneself, the mandala of the ground's spontaneous accomplishment. As it says in the Mayajala: 'Self-born wisdom, Bodhicitta, the essence of Bodhicitta, uncompounded, adorned with the blazing of all perfect qualities, the supreme mandala of spontaneous accomplishment.' Thus it is. Furthermore, as it says in the Two Examinations Tantra: 'Great wisdom dwells in the body, all thoughts are completely abandoned, pervading all things, the body dwells but is not born from the body.' Thus it is said. Furthermore, as it says in the Uttaratantra: 'Because the complete Buddha body is manifest, and because Suchness is indivisible, and because beings have the lineage, therefore all beings constantly possess the Tathagatagarbha.' Thus it is said. This meaning is the final teaching of the Sutras, and is mainly taught as a category of Dharma that definitively ascertains the ultimate truth, and it is the basis of the Tantras. Therefore, here, realizing its nature is explained as it is in places such as the Uttaratantra, the Nirvana Sutra, and the Great Mayajala Tantra. First, it is briefly indicated by establishing the summary in a structured way: the mandala of the ground's spontaneous accomplishment, the realm of the Tathagatagarbha, this is an example of what all beings possess: a treasure under the earth, a lamp inside a vase, and a Buddha image inside a lotus.

The wise should know. Among them, the first is the analogy of treasure: Like a poor person's precious treasure under the ground, although one possesses it, one does not know it, like being poor. Although the spontaneously accomplished Buddha exists within oneself, because the body, speech, and mind, the eight consciousnesses, are obscured by the earth, One constantly suffers from poverty due to the accumulation of worldly sins. Like a poor person's treasure being obscured by the soil inside the house, the essence is within oneself, but because it is obscured by the earth of the alaya consciousness's habitual patterns, one cannot see it. Therefore, one becomes impoverished in samsara. As it says in the Uttaratantra: Just as in a poor person's house, there is an inexhaustible treasure under the ground, but that person does not know it, and the treasure does not say to him, 'I am here.' Similarly, the precious treasure contained within the mind, the stainless emptiness and the unestablished nature of reality, because one has not realized it, one suffers the pain of poverty, and beings constantly experience various kinds of suffering. So it is said. The analogy of realizing what one possesses and thereby attaining Buddhahood is: From then on, a person with divine eyes sees it, shows the method of extracting the treasure, and extracts it, just as oneself and others become perfectly wealthy. The holy ones teach that reality, and by practicing it as it is, one can find the Buddha within oneself, and the two benefits are perfected, becoming a wish-fulfilling jewel. Just as a person with divine eyes sees the treasure, shows the method of extracting it, and thereby extracts it and attains perfection, similarly, by practicing as the guru identifies that one possesses the essence, one can attain Buddhahood. The second analogy is: Just as the light of a lamp inside a vase, although bright, is obscured by the vase and cannot be seen outside, Although the Dharmakaya of essence exists within oneself, it is completely invisible because it is obscured by the obscuring vase. From then on, just as if one breaks the vase, it becomes visible, when the obscurations of the various grounds are removed, one can illuminate everything like a lamp in the world. Just as the lamp inside the vase is obscured by the vase and cannot be seen outside, but becomes visible when the vase is broken, similarly, although the light of luminosity exists within oneself, it is obscured by the obscurations of the afflictions and the grounds, so it is not visible now, but when the path purifies the stains of the grounds, just as lighting a lamp in the world, it dispels the darkness of beings. As the master Nagarjuna said in the Praise of Dharmadhatu: Like a lamp inside a vase, it cannot illuminate the outside, similarly, this Dharmadhatu is, light in samsara.
