With appearance, merit, and wisdom, the two accumulations of wisdom should be relied upon. Because one desires to quickly attain Buddhahood, the cause of that is the perfection of method with appearance, the accumulation of merit, the five such as generosity, and the perfection of wisdom without appearance, the accumulation of wisdom, the emptiness of reality should be cultivated. The Ratnavali says: Therefore, these two accumulations are the cause of attaining Buddhahood. Therefore, one should always rely on them. Like that. Method and wisdom must be united, because holding that only the emptiness of mind is sufficient is not a good path. The Sutra of Gathering All Distinctions says: Maitreya, foolish people say that only wisdom is the path, thus my practice of the five perfections for many eons will become meaningless. The Sutra Requested by Anavatapta says: The activity of a Bodhisattva's demon is wisdom without method, and method without wisdom. The Sutra Requested by Ocean of Intelligence says: There is no such thing as not making manifest realization without cause and without separation from cause. If one does not strive in the five perfections, it is the sixth, the iron hook of the demon who is very endowed with wisdom. If one does not transcend those iron hooks of the demon, what need is there to even mention manifest complete enlightenment, there is no such place. The Vimalakirti Sutra says: A Bodhisattva who only relies on wisdom falls into the Nirvana of a Hearer, and will not go to the non-abiding Nirvana. Therefore, wisdom without method is the bondage of Bodhisattvas. Like that. The Collected Sutras says: Without method, separated from wisdom, one falls into the Hearer's ground. Like that. The Gaya Gori Sutra says: Wisdom without method is a wrong path, method without wisdom is a wrong path. The Sutra Requested by Supreme Strength Overpowering says: With wisdom without method, what has not arisen will not arise, and with method without wisdom, one will not be well pacified by the wise. Like that. The Dohas says: Whoever enters emptiness separated from compassion, he will not find the supreme path. But if one only cultivates compassion, one will only remain in samsara and not attain liberation.

Also transforms. Any ability to combine the two, neither dwells in samsara nor dwells in nirvana. Thus, having faith in the immeasurable teachings of sutras and tantras, one should joyfully accumulate the two accumulations without satiety for countless eons, and don the great armor. From the Great Vehicle's pith instruction treatise, The Wish-Fulfilling Treasury, the extensive commentary on the sixteenth chapter, Thinking About Karma and its Results, is complete. Seventeenth: Commentary on the Chapter of Contemplating Samsara as Suffering and Nirvana as Bliss. Thus, having faith in karma and its results, and through contemplating the nature of samsara, one becomes delighted in liberation. Therefore, following what was just said, one should then contemplate the suffering of samsara, because it is without essence and cannot be permanent. From the suffering of the three realms and six realms of existence, one should strive to quickly transcend by seeking a means. Due to the nature of karma and afflictions, one involuntarily transmigrates from one place to another. The sentient beings of the three realms and six realms of samsara have no happiness, and are drowning in a flood of suffering, which is difficult to bear and not permanent, because it has no essence. One must quickly transcend from this place. Chandrakirti said: Just as there is no fragrance in an impure thing, likewise there is no happiness in the five destinies. Thus it is. If asked: Should one not abide for a long time because one is not weary of samsara? Answer: Initially, before one has mastered one's own heat, one has no ability to accomplish the benefit of others. Therefore, in the place of faith and practice, one must necessarily emerge from samsara. The Bodhisattvacharyavatara says: If one vows to liberate beings from afflictions, but one is still bound by afflictions, that is shameless madness, like a person who does not know his own strength. Thus it is. The Ornament of the Sutras says: A hero carrying a heavy burden on his head, it is not dignified for him to walk slowly. Since self and others are bound by various ropes, one should generate a hundredfold effort. Thus it is. Now, from the aspect of extensively explaining the categories of suffering, first, among the hells, the suffering of the hot hells is: In the hell realms, there is also immeasurable suffering. In the Reviving Hell, they strike each other with weapons, and again
