Therefore, the Muni Shakyamuni Bhagavan praised the Prasangika Madhyamikas as the most excellent of all Madhyamikas. As the Mother Sutra says, "Subhuti, this nature of phenomena is very profound, and it is to be understood by wise and intelligent people, but it is not the realm of speculators." The Clear Words says, "That which is well-arranged with excellent words and clarified without being disturbed by the wind of speculation." Here, all those who assert reality are called speculators because they establish their own tenets based on their own conceptualizations. This principle should be examined at two times: one is during mutual sectarian debates, and the other is when liberating through the path of wisdom. During sectarian debates, since there is no self-acceptance, there is no need to establish tenets or refute, but only to expose the internal contradictions of the texts of those who assert reality. If we have any tenets, as the Refutation of Disputes says, "If something is perceived by direct perception, etc., then there should be establishment and refutation, but since I do not have that, I have no fault." When examining through the path of wisdom, regarding the various external appearances, the various conceptual and non-conceptual minds within, the experiences of samadhi and meditation, etc., walking, staying, sitting, lying down, eating, drinking, joy, anger, talking, thinking about Dharma, thinking about non-Dharma, sleeping, falling asleep, waking up, practicing Dharma, etc., at all times and places, one should not make any acceptance or intention such as this is my own tenet, this is another's tenet, samsara, nirvana, reality, non-reality, happiness and suffering, acceptance and rejection, Dharma, non-Dharma, etc. Because there is no attachment to names and no clinging to anything, one should examine everything that is done. Because Madhyamaka is extremely free from elaboration, like the state of equipoise of the three noble ones, one should examine the nature of the appearance of the image of freedom from elaboration like a water moon and an illusion. The Compendium Sutra says, "For example, a skilled carpenter or craftsman makes images of men and women, and they can do all kinds of things. Likewise, a Bodhisattva skilled in wisdom, with non-conceptual wisdom, does all kinds of things." Second, because it does not prevent the appearance in conventional terms, it is
