Needless to say. In the Mother Sutra, it says, "When this category of Dharma that is unborn, un abiding, and unceasing is taught, five hundred monks, without taking anything, have their minds completely liberated from the outflows. The Bhikshuni Niti attained the Dharma eye, free from dust and defilement, in all Dharmas." That is to say, do not merely think that there is no birth like flourishing growth and remain in a state of non-thought, but rather clearly recognize that the nature is such, and thereby abide in a state of effortless ease. Because the nature is such, children, clinging to characteristics, cannot realize it. In the Sutra of the Jewel Heap, it says, "The Tathagata is always the unborn Dharma, all Dharmas are the same as the Sugata. Those with childish minds who cling to characteristics practice Dharmas that do not exist in the world." Thus it is said. It is not reasonable to separately consider it as permanent or impermanent. If birth, etc., are each separately permanent, then they themselves are not conditioned, nor can they be the characteristics of other conditioned things. If they are impermanent, then each would need to have the four characteristics of birth, etc., which would become infinite. In the Root Wisdom Treatise, it says, "Birth and abiding and destruction, if there is another conditioned characteristic, if it exists, it will become infinite; if it does not exist, then these are not conditioned." Thus it is said. Letters also cannot be established, because from limbs, dust, and numerous moments of time, it cannot be established as either the same or different. In the Mother Sutra, it says, "All Dharmas are without letters, without names, and are separated from all characteristics." Then, from where are so many aggregates of Dharma spoken? Although there are no letters in reality, for those who do not realize reality and cling to letters and wander in samsara, it is to suit their faculties that names are posited, and the meaning of unborn, etc., is heard and taught. As it says in the Samadhiraja Sutra, "For Dharmas without letters, where is the hearer and where is the teacher? By positing names on the unchanging, hearing and teaching are also done." There is also no entering, just as ordinary people enter a path, because there is no duality of agent and object; just as livestock enter a house, because difference is prevented; and it is not reasonable to enter permanence or impermanence, for if it is permanent, it cannot enter; if it is impermanent, then it will cease at the time of creating the entering. Therefore, both arising and entering are prevented. There is also no quickness, because going is prevented, and transferring is prevented.

Because, if it is permanent, it does not change; if it is impermanent, it ceases when making changes. Refuting places is threefold: refuting the center and edge, boundaries, and the nature of places. First, if we examine particles, since the components of the central particle and the edge particle are not established, the edge and center are impossible. The center of one is established as the edge of another to measure, so the determination of edge and center is completely refuted, therefore it is not established. Second, if the edge and center have a boundary, are they touching or not touching? If touching, it cannot be a boundary because it has become one; if not touching, it cannot be a boundary, like things and non-things. It cannot be a boundary by reliance, because it is the center and direction of some, like the appearance of the boundary itself. Third, if like the vast one it is a thing, then it is momentarily impermanent and has no particle components, so it cannot be a place; if it is a non-thing, then there is no place because there is no thing. Refuting aggregates is threefold: touching and not touching, one and not one, and being the same as the general. First, like sentient beings and forest aggregates, if touching, the aggregate is not established, because the aggregate of individual components disappears. If not touching, the aggregate is not determined as one. If it is one, it contradicts otherness; if it is not one, it contradicts the aggregate being one. It is also the same as the general, because an aggregate only refers to many natures gathering into one, so refuting the general also refutes the aggregate. The "Bodhicharyavatara" says: "Continuity and aggregates, like rosaries and armies, are all false." Refuting the unconditioned is threefold: examining the basis, examining what is to be refuted, and refuting things. First, the reason for establishing this as unconditioned is not established, because it is only imputed on minds with and without concepts, confused and not confused, and cannot appear to anyone, like refuting space. If you say that the meaning-generals and water moons are also without things, so they are the same. They are not the same, because they are determined by mind and rely on conditions. As the "Root Wisdom" says: "Nirvana is unconditioned, things and non-things are conditioned." Second, because all refuting dharmas rely on what is to be refuted, therefore, since the conditioned is false, the unconditioned is also false, so it is not established. As that treatise says: "Birth and dwelling and destruction, are not established, so there is no conditioned. Because the conditioned is completely not established,
