All seeds flow like a river. It is not permissible to grasp at them as "self." I have not taught this to children. Similarly, in the Sutra on the Four Benefits of the Tathagata, which is a teaching that stems from the Hearers' vehicle, it says: "Beings delight in the basis of all (ālaya), universally delight in the basis of all, truly arise from the basis of all, and those who manifestly delight in the basis of all will be willing to listen to the Dharma when it is taught for the sake of abandoning the basis of all." Thus it is. Refuting the absence of the Great Vehicle has three aspects: the absence of proof, the presence of harm, and the similarity of reasoning. The first is that conditioned phenomena are not contradictory to impermanence, because the Sambhogakaya is not a conditioned phenomenon. As it says in the Uttaratantra: "It is unconditioned and spontaneously accomplished." Some people think that things are impermanent or a momentary continuum, and that the constant continuum is created by merit. This is simply not turning one's mind towards the Great Vehicle. They think that in the realm of the essence of the heart, the qualities of the same nature without before or after, are obscured by the stains of obscurations, which are removed by the two accumulations, causing the two bodies to manifest. Although it is assumed that they arise from causes, they are actually separable. As it says in the Ornament of the Sutras: "Although there is no difference between before and after, the thusness is purified and becomes enlightened." And so on, it is clear from the scriptures. If you think that it will become a truly permanent entity, it is not so. The wisdom vision of the Tathagata, which is liberated from all things and non-things, is an inconceivable realm of activity. As it says in the Uttaratantra: "The Buddha-dhatu, the Buddha-bodhi, the Buddha-qualities, and the Buddha-activities, are not to be thought of even by pure beings." Thus it is. It is not contradictory to selflessness, because the Sugata-garbha is empty of adventitious dharmas, and the alaya is a momentary continuum. It is not contradictory to suffering, because you also agree that the lessening of suffering is happiness. It is not contradictory to peace, because the Arhat is not a final Nirvana, but rather the coarse suffering of samsara is pacified. And we think of the Buddha as the Dharmakaya, and you do not want to pass into Nirvana by cessation. It is also not contradictory to the Tripitaka, because in the face of great necessity, small things to be refuted are allowed. And afflictions and ignorance

Because Bodhisattvas do not practice what should be rejected as being tainted by (the Lesser Vehicle), and it does not contradict the law of karma, because the Great Vehicle also does not believe that karma will exhaust itself. The harm that exists is: if there is no Dharma of the Great Vehicle, Buddhas cannot arise, because altruistic compassion and the like are not in the Dharma of the Hearers. Because the cause of the Buddha is incomplete. As it says in the Ornament of Sutras: "Incomplete and contradictory, and not a means, therefore it is not said in this way, this vehicle of the Hearers, is not called the Dharma of the Great Vehicle." The similarity is: if the Great Vehicle is not the word of the Buddha, then your four Agamas and Sutra Pitaka are also not the word of the Buddha. Our Agamas are also accepted by you, so they are the same; if our Agamas are not accepted by us, then it is not. If it is not considered the word of the Buddha because it does not conform to common appearances, then these Agamas should also become non-Buddha words because they do not conform to the common appearances of outsiders. If it is said that it is not the word of the Buddha because our Hearers have not heard it, this is also unreasonable, because there are Subhūti and others who have heard it. If it is not the word of the Buddha because of doubt, then all the words of the Buddha should become non-Buddha words, because demons and heretics will doubt. As it says in the Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life: "If the Great Vehicle is not the word of the Buddha, the fault is the same for you." Refuting the absence of the ten grounds: because without obtaining the ten grounds, without obtaining the powers in the position of ordinary beings, therefore the accumulation of merit is not completed, so it is reasonable to accumulate the grounds of the noble ones in the path of seeing and the path of cultivation. If defilements are not abandoned, there will be many obstacles on the path, so it will become an obstacle. As it says in the Hidden Dharma Sutra: "When the lamp maker, prophesied, at that time, the eighth ground is obtained, and the ten powers are also obtained." As it is said. Refuting the self-sufficient Buddha: the Sage himself should become a non-Buddha, because he has not abandoned the obscurations of maturation such as brain disease, and because he has not abandoned ignorance when asked about superior conduct and far flight, and because there is no great compassion when the work of benefiting beings is interrupted after death. In this way, it also refutes the belief that the Alaya consciousness does not exist at all, and the belief that Hearers cannot become Buddhas, and the belief that realization is the same as that of the noble ones but there are no qualities of the grounds, but believes that the Dharma of the noble ones has been obtained, and after death
