Though without, the form body is distinctly clear like a rainbow. To the five families of Sugatas who have mastered the supreme method and wisdom, I prostrate. Thus it is said. The three manifestations are: From the Ornament of the Sutras: Craft and birth and great enlightenment, are the manifestations of supreme enlightenment. Thus it is said. The craft manifestation is all self-arisen and constructed supports of body, speech, and mind, such as paintings, which increase the white Dharma of beings. The birth manifestation is that which manifests in the earth and so on, saving from famine and disease and so on. The supreme manifestation is that which manifests in the twelve deeds and benefits sentient beings, as it says in the Uttaratantra: Without moving from the Dharmakaya, with various natures of manifestation, showing birth and descending from the Tushita heaven, entering the womb and being born, being skilled in the place of crafts, enjoying the retinue of consorts, renunciation and practicing austerities, going to the Bodhi tree, destroying the armies of Mara and perfect enlightenment, turning the wheel of Dharma and showing passing into Nirvana. In all impure realms, it shows remaining in samsara as long as samsara exists. Thus it is said. If it is said that these three bodies are one in essence, but due to the difference in qualities, the nature of the other two bodies is expanded, then the body of great bliss without outflows is said to be the master of all bodies or the essence, so great bliss and essence are spoken of as synonyms. Manifest enlightenment itself is indestructible, so it is the Vajra body. What is said here as a synonym is: Inconceivable great bliss wisdom body, the master of all, that is without outflows, beyond expression. Essence, self-nature, pervasive master, Dharma-nature, other than the nature of great bliss, there is nothing. The nature of the three bodies, the essence of one and not one, is the inconceivable great bliss, the nature without outflows, pervading all bodies and wisdom, and being inseparable is the nature of great bliss, and not other. The Ra-li says: Great bliss, enlightenment, unsurpassed, is said to be the wisdom Dharmakaya. Thus it is said. Again, that which is unchanging in abandonment and realization is: The self-nature body of manifest, unchanging Vajra, abandonment and realization are ultimate, without change.

Having abandoned all dual obscurations and perfected all qualities, it is the body of manifest enlightenment. This very body does not degenerate from liberation and is immutable, hence it is called the Vajra Body. As stated in the Lotus Crest Tantra: "Manifest enlightenment, perfect Buddha, Vajra pinnacle, unsurpassed, inseparable wisdom itself is the body, eternal, peaceful, ultimate self." Thus it is said. These five bodies do not exist as separate entities, but are shown as the individual wisdoms of one Buddha within a single essence. Therefore, the bodies are inseparable, a single essence, the radiant essence is free from all obscurations, emptiness, appearance, and radiance are inseparable, although spoken of as different, they are merely nominal designations. Depending on the individual qualities and aspects, the essence of radiant light manifests, the aspect of its essence being emptiness is the Dharmakaya, the aspect of its nature being appearance is the Sambhogakaya, the aspect of its various radiations is the Nirmanakaya, the aspect of inseparable abandonment and realization is the Abhisambodhi Vajrakaya, and the aspect of inseparable great bliss being of one taste is the Mahasukha Svabhavikakaya. Although designated separately for the mere necessity of understanding the terms, they are only different ways of speaking. As it says in the same text: "Though not different, they are spoken of as different, because of the profound nature itself. Spontaneously accomplished and wisdom body, the fivefold enlightenment is the great supreme." Thus it is said. The five wisdoms that rely on these five bodies are also: Dharmadhatu, mirror-like, equality, discriminating, accomplishing activity, wisdom, spontaneously accomplished nature. The first is the Dharmakaya, the second is the lord of the Sambhogakaya, the third is great bliss, the remainder is the Nirmanakaya. Their essence is inseparable, their aspects are different. The wisdom of the Dharmadhatu is the wisdom of the Dharmakaya. The mirror-like wisdom is the wisdom of the Sambhogakaya. The wisdom of equality is established as the wisdom of the Mahasukha body. Discriminating wisdom and accomplishing activity are the wisdoms of the Nirmanakaya, which has the aspect of the body of manifest enlightenment. These five wisdoms are also primordially present as inseparable from the spontaneously accomplished awareness of essence, but they are obscured by obscurations on the path of learning and do not manifest. Therefore, from the purification of the five aspects of obscuration, and from the appearance due to the conditions of the five antidotes that eliminate them, the first is the cessation of the alaya, etc., in relation to the three bodies...
