Also. Practicing the five fires means: in the summer, lighting four fires in the four directions, with the sun above, being scorched by the five fires. In winter, enduring the cold river water, and when it rains, not taking shelter. As it says in the scripture: "In winter, dwell in the water, in hot times, practice the five fires, in summer, dwell without shelter, that Brahmin practices extreme asceticism." Regarding begging: if one holds possessions, for the sake of accumulating, selling, and maintaining livelihood, the defilements of attachment and aversion will increase, and the time for meditation will be wasted, so one should beg for alms. Also, one should not accept offerings from the lower castes, because that will lead to loss of purity, and loss of purity will lead to rebirth as an animal. Therefore, even if one accepts offerings from the higher castes, one does not wish to serve them in the name of begging. As it says in the Gyalje (Victorious King) Sutra: "One should live by begging for alms, but because of impurity, one should not accept offerings from the lower castes. If one accepts offerings from the lower castes, the Brahmin will be reborn as a donkey. One will take twelve donkey rebirths, ten slaves in ten cities, ten sorrowful wild animals, quails in the arrow-path garden. Brahmin, have you not thought about this?" It also says: "Whoever obtains the body of a Brahmin, but acts according to the king's command, that person abandons the body of a Brahmin and becomes a member of the lower castes." Similarly, like livestock, eating grass face down and drinking water, and even engaging in sexual relations with one's mother. As it says in the scripture: "Drinking water face down, eating grass, engaging in sexual relations with one's own caste, mother, and mother's sisters, behaving like a cow, if one practices this for a year, one will conquer all." Also, plucking one's own hair, similarly, standing on one leg and looking at the sun, shaving one's head and offering it to Chandika, jumping on the tip of the trident, and so on. By doing this, the suffering to be experienced later is exhausted by experiencing it in this life, so that one does not take rebirth again. Taking vows means: abandoning the ten non-virtuous actions, being worried about stepping on living beings under one's feet, so attaching bells to one's ankles, not cutting down trees, not taking what is not given, even if one sees water on the road, if there is no giver, one would rather endure thirst, abandoning falsehood, practicing the asceticism of not speaking, and so on, and fasting. The afflictions are:

Attachment, hatred, ignorance, and so on. Bondage is: the self wandering in samsara. Liberation is: the self, having separated from all the faults of afflictions, at the peak of existence, transforms into a white, shining, and round shape, which is desired. As stated in the 'Victorious King Sutra': 'The color of snow, wide-spreading fragrant flowers, the color of milk, yogurt, and pearls, resembling the shape of a held white umbrella, the Victorious One said that is liberation.' Life is: that which has consciousness. And that has nine

Because it is only felt by the body. The third is fireflies and ants, etc., because they have three: body, tongue, and nose, they can feel. The fourth sense is that bees and long-mouthed bees, etc., have all four senses except the eyes, so they can also hear sounds. The fifth sense is that humans and quadrupeds such as horses, etc., and birds and deer, etc., have both eyes and all five senses, so they can also see objects. They think so. Moreover, the four elements of earth, water, fire, and wind have only one sense, because there is nothing other than the body. Trees have all the senses, just like humans. Other living beings have different numbers of senses, such as two, three, four, and five. They think so. Non-living things are without consciousness, such as sounds, smells, tastes, light, sky, shadows, rainbows, and images, etc. The general state of existence is that all objects of knowledge are diverse in place, time, and number, but are one in nature. For example, this world and other worlds are diverse in place. Past and present calendars are diverse in time. Humans, birds, and deer, etc., are diverse in number. Although these appear to be diverse, they are one in nature. For example, a single dzi bead (gzi sgong, a type of gemstone) has many colors, but it is still just one dzi bead, like the feathers of a pigeon. Similarly, the ways of perceiving with the mind and becoming valid cognitions are diverse in place, time, and number, but are one in nature. As stated in the Vaiśeṣika Sūtra: Place, time, and number are diverse, but in nature, they are one. For example, from variegated colors, one can perceive colors as desired. Similarly, for objects, because there are various manifestations, one can perceive them as different or the same entities. For the essence of multiple objects, when one wants to express it, one considers it as the essence. In the two ways of simultaneous or sequential, there is no other function of words. So it is said. Refuting this is divided into two parts: refuting the classification of knowledge and refuting the general state of existence. The first part, according to the previous view, is divided into seven categories, among which refuting asceticism is divided into three points: hardship and ease are relative, whether or not it can be unified with a person (gang zag, person), and that asceticism cannot liberate. The first point is that, in general, there is no such thing as asceticism, because hardship and ease are relative, so it is not established by its own nature, such as fasting, that will
