Certainty is: Certainty arises from the Dharma to be ascertained. That is, the objects to be measured of the various categories of vehicles are certain, namely, for all the Dharmas included by appearance, existence, samsara, and nirvana, one enters by knowing what is to be known, what is to be abandoned, and what is to be adopted. Dharma, in its own nature, refers to the ten objects, as stated in the *Treatise on Distinguishing Consciousness*: Dharma is what is to be known, the path, as well as nirvana and the object of mind, merit, life, and scriptures, the future, certainty, and the principles of Dharma. Here, the Dharma of samsara, such as afflictions, refers to knowing them as what is to be abandoned. The Dharma of nirvana, such as purification, refers to knowing them as what is to be adopted, which is the way to ascertain the sphere of activity of the Four Noble Truths. As stated in the *Uttaratantra*: Disease is what is to be known, the cause of disease is what is to be abandoned, in order to attain well-being, one should rely on medicine itself. Suffering, its cause, and its cessation, and likewise the path, should be known, abandoned, attained, and relied upon. As a branch of its means, the certainty of how to ascertain is also that the various appearing Dharmas are vast, and the essence of emptiness of inherent existence abides deeply, having been ascertained by the two truths. Words and letters, the collection of scriptures, the nature of teaching, hearing, and thinking are vast, and the instructions transmitted from the venerable Guru, which transcend words and letters, the key points are certain, and the meaning of Dharmata manifests instantaneously in the continuum is profound, these are the Dharmas to be ascertained here. For those who have great wisdom and bodhicitta, and thus engage in benefiting others, all the profound and vast places should be shown. The *Ornament of the Sutras* says: If one does not strive in the five fields of knowledge, even the supreme conquerors will not attain omniscience. In order to subdue others and to take them in, and for oneself to know everything, therefore one studies it. For beginners, one should explain the benefits of liberation, the faults of samsara, the impermanence of life, and the faith in cause and effect. As stated in the *Ratnakuta Sutra*: For those who have entered into liberation, the Dharma that accords with their intelligence and inclination should be taught. Thus it is. For those who make the practice of renunciation the core, one should explain the profound key points that are concise in words and condensed in meaning, which quickly lead to liberation, namely, the shortness of life, the abundance of words and terms, and what

Because there is no essence either. In the presence of the venerable Dipamkara Jñana it is said: This life is short, and there are many things to be known. The length of life is also unknown. Just as a swan takes milk from water, one should accept one's own wishes. As it is said. Observing worldly actions, all that is done is a source of meaningless suffering. No matter how much one thinks, there is no benefit, so one should get used to observing one's own mind. As it is said. Whether explaining profound or vast topics, one should avoid obstacles and interruptions, and it is advised: That is, to avoid unfavorable factors: external and internal noise, flattery, gifts, as well as alcohol, sleep, drowsiness, loss of mindfulness, etc., all of which become obstacles to understanding the meaning of what is heard. When engaging in teaching and listening to the Dharma, whether as a teacher or a student, one should avoid the noise and distractions that cause distraction, and the delays caused by invitations and hospitality, and the sleepiness and drowsiness that cause unclear memory, etc. In the place of teaching and listening to the Dharma, it should be decorated with various kinds of thrones, offerings, etc., as well as mandalas, etc. On the Dharma throne, spread cushions of silk, etc., hang umbrellas and banners, as well as curtains and veils, etc., arrange internal and external offerings, draw rekhas, or arrange mandalas of gold and silver, etc., arrange tormas, and when the speaker comes to the throne, he should be welcomed with music and the seven-limbed offering, and the three continuous instruments and songs. As it is said in the Dharma category of the Great Jewel Heap Sutra: In the place where the rain of the excellent Dharma falls, a lion throne, umbrellas and banners should be erected, and it should be decorated with pearls, jewels, the sound of cymbals and musical instruments, and various kinds of offerings. Offer various kinds of cushions as Dharma seats, rely on the Khenpo and Acharya with joy, and be respectful to others without getting tired. Such a person has the thirty-two marks. As it is said. Being respectful to others means being respectful to all the people gathered there. One should have pure appearances and sincere respect, not scold, nor speak badly, not tell jokes, and decorate with incense and garlands of lamps. Arrangement
