If the body is not formed, how can life be formed? It is like a dust particle. In conventional terms, one should not commit evil deeds even for the sake of life. As it is said in the Sutra Requested by the Daughter Zla-mchog (Chandrashri): 'For the sake of wealth, friends, parents, and even for the sake of life, one should not commit evil deeds.' Thus it is said. What contradicts this is said in the Lung-gyal-che (Agama): 'What is not agreeable to oneself, one should not do to others. This is the collection of all dharmas. Others should be engaged with desire.' Thus it is said. There are three ways to refute the causelessness of things: it is unreasonable in meaning, the example is not established, and it contradicts one's own tenets. The first of these is further divided into five: it leads to being everywhere or nowhere, effort becomes futile, it is refuted by direct perception, it is impermissible to speak of causelessness, and speaking of it becomes meaningless. The first is that if a pot is causeless, then as it exists in one place, it should exist everywhere; as it exists at one time, it should exist at all times; and in form, as it exists in a pot, it should also exist in woolen cloth, or it would become without distinction, because all dependencies would be without difference. It is permissible to depend on conditions, because it is permissible for the pot to be placed there and removed elsewhere. In the Pramāṇavārttika (Commentary on Valid Cognition), it is said: 'Because the causeless does not depend on others, it will become either always existent or non-existent. Some things arise from dependence.' Thus it is said. The second is that all efforts to obtain crops and fruits through agriculture and so on would become futile, because there is no cause. Without a cause, even if one makes efforts in agriculture, the fruit of the autumn harvest will not occur. In the Bodhisattvacaryāvatāra (Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life), it is said: 'If something arises solely from a cause, then everything will always arise from everything. For the sake of producing fruit, this world will not gather seeds and so on through hundreds of means.' Thus it is said. The third is that because it is seen that smoke arises from fire, sprouts arise from seeds, and the sound of a drum arises from striking a stick, causelessness has been refuted, and there is no need to argue. The fourth is that it is not permissible to say that everything is causeless, because the word 'causeless' does not arise without the tongue and palate touching, so this is also refuted by one's own words. The fifth is that speaking of causelessness becomes meaningless, because...

Because enlightenment cannot be generated beyond language. The example is not established because the cause of the sun's rising is from the sun itself, and the cause of water's flowing downward is established from the water itself. Because in one entity, a part cannot be both the generator and the generated. Because when observing one cause, being generated and not being generated are contradictory, so it will become different entities. The Pramāṇavārttika states: "Like thorns, etc., sharpness is without cause, so they become without cause." Some say this. "Whatever is born, is what is born, whatever changes, is what is changed. That is the cause of that, those are also in that." Clouds are also water vapor from the earth carried by the wind. The formation of the world is also from the causes of clouds, etc., carried by the wind from other worlds, coming here and spreading, becoming rain, etc. Everything is accomplished by the common cause of karma. The Abhidharmakośa states: "Karma generates various worlds." If asked whether there are unseen causeless things? No, because smoke arises from fire, although hidden, the result is obvious, so all things arise from causes. Therefore, all cause and effect at the time of birth are like illusions and dreams, and if analyzed, it will be known that they have no self-nature. Contradictory to one's own doctrine is what the Vinaya Sutra states: "Here, good and non-good, the karma created by oneself, will not be wasted, therefore abandon evil, son of the spear." This is why. There are three ways to refute self-ignorance with knowledge: the fault of becoming non-knowledge, the fault of not recognizing the object, and the fault of becoming confused. The first is that self-awareness is the nature of knowledge, and it is also the state of self-awareness knowledge, so merely returning from self-ignorance will become self-awareness. The Madhyamakālaṃkāra states: "From the nature of consciousness aggregate, turning back arises, whatever is not the nature of the aggregate, that is called self-nature clarity here." Therefore, if one does not recognize oneself, it will become the fault of not even being knowledge, because it is separated from the pervasiveness of knowledge. The second is that knowledge will become the fault of completely not recognizing the object, because it does not recognize itself. That is to say, the vase is established by eye consciousness, and the eye consciousness itself
