The suffering is like an endless ocean, immeasurable. Saṃsāra is like a pit of fire. There is no time for happiness, like the alternating drawing of water with buckets. One after another, without end. Wise people therefore develop a desire for liberation. From such a meaningless saṃsāra, the supreme state of liberation is nirvāṇa. It is the nectar of peace, tranquility, and coolness, unsurpassed. It is constant, stable, unchanging, and free from elaboration. Qualities are naturally complete, without aging or death. It is free from obscurations, without impurities, and is a place of benefit and happiness. It is the refuge and support of beings, Wise people strive to reach there. From the Great Vehicle's Instruction Treatise, "The Wish-Fulfilling Jewel Treasury," Chapter Seventeen: Thinking of Saṃsāra as Suffering and Nirvāṇa as Bliss. Chapter Eighteen: Establishing the Nature of Reality. Having thus completed the objects of thought, one should generate wisdom born of meditation in one's mind-stream. From the three paths that lead to definite emergence from the three vehicles, here we enter into the meaning of the supreme essence. Among these, first, it is most important to know the nature of reality. Although there are many aspects due to the different vehicles, the definitive essence, the truth, is inseparable. It is the secret treasury of the Buddhas. Its nature is clear light wisdom, from beginningless time it is the completely pacified, non-elaborate self. Like the sun in the sky, it is spontaneously accomplished, uncompounded. Since it is naturally pure and has always existed, appearance and emptiness are inseparable, there is no establishment or refutation, no coming or going. The conventional is completely cut off, transcending the realm of distinctions. Because it transcends the two truths that are examined, all elaboration is pacified. The true is inseparable, there is no establishment or non-establishment. In the sphere, appearance and emptiness are non-dual in nature. Therefore, that truth is also said to be inseparable. If one distinguishes well according to the manner of the two truths of convention, then, in this way, all the phenomena of saṃsāra, which are illusory appearances, because they are untrue and deceptive, are the conventional truth. The profound, peaceful, clear light dharma of nirvāṇa, the unchanging nature, is considered the ultimate truth. The conventional, in this way, these various appearances, are like illusion, a moon in water, an emanation, a reflection. This appearance, which has no nature, if examined deeply, because it has no real foundation, is empty like space, cutting off characteristics. If not examined, it is like various pleasing illusions. Habitual tendencies are the basis of delusion.

Arising from… Like the appearance of a Datura flower. Thus, the nature is empty and selfless. That itself is its reality. What is called ultimate truth, all appearances are relative truth. At the very moment of appearance, there is no establishment of arising, etc. That is the nature, the truth is inseparable. Its nature is pure from the beginning. Luminosity and ultimate truth are inseparable. Samsara and Nirvana are non-dual, the truth is inseparable. Thus, although it appears, samsara is not established. There is no nature, that is the ultimate truth of the Dharmadhatu. There is no dharma to distinguish them separately. Samsara and Nirvana are shown to be inseparable, as equality. Thoughts that are different from this are wrong. They are utterly ignorant of the meaning of reality. In the face of delusion, there is cause and effect as it appears. Therefore, it is important to know what to accept and reject in terms of virtue and vice. The unchanging nature of ultimate truth Is the spontaneously accomplished luminosity, the Tathagatagarbha. The indivisibility of emptiness, clarity, and awareness is the nature of reality. This itself is the spontaneously accomplished mandala of nature. From the beginning, it is spontaneously perfect, possessing the essence of enlightenment. Completely pure, free from elaboration, free from all partiality. Profound and peaceful, the Dharmakaya and wisdom are inseparable. This itself is an example that all beings possess. Like a treasure under the ground, a lamp inside a vase, And an image inside a lotus, the wise should understand. Like a precious treasure under the ground for a poor person. Although one has it, one does not know it, like poverty. Although the spontaneously accomplished Buddha is within oneself, Body, speech, and mind, the eight consciousnesses are obscured by earth. Afflicted by the faults of existence, one is constantly impoverished. Therefore, one with divine eyes sees it. He shows the method of extracting the treasure, and it is extracted. Like the complete abundance of one's own wealth. The holy ones teach this reality. By practicing accordingly, one finds the Buddha within oneself. The perfection of both aims becomes a wish-fulfilling jewel. Just as the light of a lamp inside a vase is bright, But it is obscured by the vase and not visible outside. Although the Dharmakaya of essence abides within oneself, It is obscured by the obscuring vase, so it is not fully visible. Therefore, just as it appears when the vase is broken. When one is free from whatever obscurations of the grounds are, The lamp of the world will shine everywhere. Just as there is the body of the Tathagata inside a lotus, But it is covered by the lotus, so there is no external appearance. Likewise, the thousand petals of the apprehended and the apprehender
