As it says in the praise: "Beyond speech, thought, and expression, Prajñāpāramitā. Unborn, unceasing, the very nature of space. The field of experience of the wisdom of individual self-awareness. To the mother of the Buddhas of the three times, I prostrate." As it is said. Pure mind is: the mind at the time of the path, uncorrupted by conceptual thought, capable of being the cause of liberation, arising in samādhi; and compassion with conceptual thought, the generation of bodhicitta, etc., all capable of being the cause of liberation. As it says in the Ratnāvalī: "Emptiness possessing the essence of compassion, for some who accomplish enlightenment." And "Without attachment, without hatred, without delusion, the actions produced by that are virtuous." and so on. These also, because they cannot directly focus on grasping the general meaning of the self-arisen ultimate truth, are included in the category of samsaric mind. As it says in the Uttaratantra: "The ultimate truth of self-arisenness, is to be realized only through faith, like the sun's disc, though bright, is not seen without people." As it is said. If impure mind is classified, there are two: brief explanation and detailed explanation. First, although there is no impurity in the dharmadhātu, when it moves from it, anything arises without ceasing from the ground appearance. From the play of ignorance arises mind, from the adornment of mind arises intellect, and from intellect arises afflictions. Among them, play is the ability or talent, or like a ray, just the radiance arising from it. Like a sprout arising from a seed, and from the shape of a face, its image appearing in a mirror. Adornment is the part of the fruit that matures and appears from it, like a flower and the bulge of grain arising from a seed. Thus, in the Rangshar it also says: "In the completely pure original purity appearance, there is no ignorance, no mind, no intellect. However, from the talent of spontaneous accomplishment, ignorance arises. From the play of ignorance, mind arises. From the adornment of mind, intellect arises. From the object of intellect, the five poisons arise. From the five poisons, sixteen afflictions arise. From sixteen, twenty-five arise. From that, fifty-one arise. From that, eighty-four thousand arise." Second, the detailed explanation has three: the classification of the root ignorance, the classification of the mind arising from it, and the detailed explanation of the classification of the afflictions arising from it. First, again in the same it says: "Ignorance is like this: the root is the ignorance of mind, the delusion is of the object.

Ignorance, and the ignorance that is the basis of confusion, the ignorance of grasping and conceptualization, the ignorance of contrived paths, and the ignorance of unknowing and delusion. Thus, ignorance arises in six forms, not seeing one's own appearance. In order, the initial awareness does not recognize its own face, so there is delusion of mistaking oneself for another; the ignorance of not knowing that the nature of the appearing object is without inherent existence; the ignorance of being confused by conditions, like mistaking a post for a person; the ignorance of being attached to the appearance as self, even though the essence of awareness is selfless, like saying "my house"; contrivance like a path; the ignorance of the antidote turning into poison, not giving liberation; and the ignorance of not knowing the meaning of self-luminousness, so one is always deluded in samsara. Secondly, the divisions of mind that arise from that are: From Self-Arisen (Rangshar): The divisions of mind are as follows: The mind that gathers various things like water; the mind that has no purity or impurity like a pig; the mind that is brave and strong like a tiger; the mind that is light like a feather; the mind that moves like wind; the mind that is extremely intoxicated like mud; the mind that spreads like a spark; the mind that desires like a bird; the mind that grows like a branch; the mind that is difficult to stop like a dancer (Tibetan: གར་སྦྱིན་, Sanskrit Devanagari: N/A, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: N/A, Literal meaning: N/A); and the mind that has no object of fixation like a madman, there are eleven. These in order are: water because it gathers various objects and habitual patterns; a pig because it is ignorant of what to accept and reject; a tiger because it has coarse hatred and pride; a bird feather because it engages in many objects but is not certain in one place; wind because it moves without obstruction; mud because it is intoxicated by craving for objects; fire because conceptual thoughts spread from one to many; a bird because it desires to take objects; a branch because it analyzes the meaning as the skill of knowledge grows; a dancer (Tibetan: གར་སྦྱིན་, Sanskrit Devanagari: N/A, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: N/A, Literal meaning: N/A) because the object holds awareness and is controlled by it; and the mind that is like a madman because the awareness of the object floats without fixation. These are also gathered into the three minds of virtue, non-virtue, and neutral due to objects and conditions. From mind arises attention, and there are six minds in the attention that seeks everywhere. Thirdly, the divisions of afflictions that arise from that are three: six root afflictions, ten
