Obstacles to Enlightenment. The demon that clings to the extremes of biased views, arrogant and self-satisfied, in the spontaneously accomplished, impartial, and unattached state. The deluded mind that imposes existence and non-existence, appearance and emptiness, on the unobstructed emptiness that is without substance or characteristics. Therefore, abandon any desired partiality, and understand the spontaneously accomplished impartiality like the sky. In the naked awareness, the single bindu, free from elaboration, considering existence and non-existence, appearance and emptiness, view and practice, etc., as one or different, are all illusory thoughts, because self-born wisdom is not established anywhere. Clinging to samsara and the appearance of samsara as being formed by one's own mind is also an obstacle to realizing the meaning of dharmata, because it clings to things and characteristics. Thinking of existence and non-existence, right and wrong, suddenly arises as a mental obscuration on the nature of non-elaboration, because it is a net of various elaborations. In short, clinging to everything that is thought, spoken, and objectified is a completely distorted conceptualization, which is called the dark door that obscures the realization of the naked essence, and is shown as the demon bound by clinging to names. The Great Garuda says: "When body and speech are fabricated, and the mind clings to holding, what other antidote is superior to obscuring the truth of dharmata?" So it is said. At this time, in order to be liberated from the dangerous situation of the demon to be abandoned, it is crucial to understand it. To explain briefly: the essence of the demon is ignorance, accompanied by the illusion of grasping and being grasped. The definition is that it obstructs liberation, therefore it is a demon. Classification: The root classification is the two, grasping and being grasped. Branch classifications are the four demons: the demon of the aggregates, the demon of death, the demon of afflictions, and the demon of the son of the gods. Subdivided, there are twenty-eight types of external demons, etc. The classification of transformations is inconceivable, such as the end of thoughts, the differences in karma, and the number of afflictions, so is the number of demons. In summary, they are all included in conceptual thought alone. Since conceptual thought is liberated in the state of awareness, if one understands the meaning of awareness, one is called a yogi who has conquered the demon. These are also self-liberated awareness, demons bound by conceptual names, inconceivable, numerous, unspeakable, and inconceivable, how are conceptual names

Said: All are the nature of demons. This is a brief explanation: Attachment to objects of grasping and clinging is an external demon. Acting with deluded thoughts is an internal demon. Fame spreading far and wide is being deceived by demons. Wearing fine ornaments on the body is being deceived by demons. The false words of relatives are being deceived by demons. Attachment and hatred towards enemies is being deceived by demons. Thinking of oneself as real is being deceived by demons. If attachment to the body arises, that too is a demon. Attachment to objects of grasping and clinging is an external demon. Attachment to the taste of samadhi is an internal demon. Attachment to the field of appearances is the demon of appearances. If one consumes doubts about what is and is not, that is the demon of thoughts. If one is carried away by distractions of doing and acting, that is the demon of samsara. If thoughts enter the mind, that is the demon of the mind. Attachment to objects of grasping and clinging to Dharma is the demon of the mind. Attachment to enjoyment and retinue is the demon of distraction. Attachment to the things of samsara is the demon of the aggregates. Attachment to the swamp of disputes is the demon of afflictions. Attachment to friends of joy and sorrow is the demon of the gods. If one is wrathful, fierce, brave, and arrogant, that is the demon of the Lord of Death. Attachment to the deity one meditates on is the demon of bondage. Attachment to the five poisons of attachment and hatred is the demon of the lower realms. Attachment to the ten virtuous actions is the demon of birth. Attachment to the path of samsara is the demon of ignorance. If one is greedy for objects, that is the demon of attachment. If one abandons reviling the Dharma, that is the demon of jealousy. If one makes others unhappy, that is the demon of pride. If one abandons others, that is the demon of faults. Likewise, the ways in which demons deceive are inconceivable. They cannot be expressed in words, and although their numbers are many, if the four root demons are destroyed, then the demons will find no opportunity. The distinctions of demons are explained in this way. Therefore, conceptual thought is the demon of samsara. It is nonexistent, empty, and cannot be grasped. Demons are also realized in their own nature. In the appearance of great wisdom, there are no demons, and there is no need to create demons. There is only self-arisen awareness. Apart from that, there are no demons. Look at the demon as your own awareness. By realizing that, all demons are naturally empty and naturally destroyed. Before the existence of "I," there was not even the name "demon." Since demons arise from "I," the term "demon" does not exist separately. All those who cling to conceptual thoughts are the one great root of demons. If one realizes "I," then all demons are purified. All demons that cling to conceptual thoughts, by means of
