Join the backs of the hands, connect the two little fingers, bend the two thumbs into the palms, align the remaining fingers and extend them slightly downwards, forming the Garuda mudra. Recite: 'ག་རུ་ཌ་ཧཾ་ས་ཧེ་ཙ་ལེ་ཙ་ལེ་སྭཱཧཱ།' (Tibetan: ག་རུ་ཌ་ཧཾ་ས་ཧེ་ཙ་ལེ་ཙ་ལེ་སྭཱཧཱ།), and then perform the covering and other rituals, leaving no trace of the ritual. Take the offerings and clean utensils to a water source where nagas are known to reside. If there are mandalas and statues, offer them in a secluded place; if the naga image is made of tsampa, ensure the beginning and end are correct and the order is right, then send it to the water source. If the seed syllable is written on a lotus, wipe it off with fragrant water. These are all temporary methods for gathering clouds, suppressing wind, preventing hail and frost, which should be learned from the oral instructions and the guru's teachings. This text, entitled 'The Great Black Vajra, the Nine Great Nagas Surrounded by Rain-Making Method - Accomplishment Cloud Cluster,' was compiled by Sakya Ngawang Kunga Lodro to save sentient beings in this degenerate age from the dangers of famine, gathered from the rain-making texts of Tsarchen Chökyi Gyalpo, Je Ngawang Namgyal, Ngakchang Lama Thamsed Khyenpa Ameshab, etc., and written in simple language. May this enable Jambudvipa to overcome poverty and enjoy inexhaustible treasures! Om Svasti! Instructions for Suppressing Wind with the Protector's Method: In the northwest corner of the valley, dig a pit one cubit deep. On a clean stone slab, draw an eight-petaled lotus with vermilion. In the center of the lotus, write 'སུཾ་' (Tibetan, सुं, Sanskrit Devanagari, sum, Sanskrit Romanization, essence), and on the eight petals, write eight 'ཕུཿ' (Tibetan, फुः, Sanskrit Devanagari, phuḥ, Sanskrit Romanization, phu) with the letterheads facing outwards. Place the stone slab face up in the pit with the letterhead of the center syllable facing north. On the inside of the stone slab covering the pit, write 'སུཾ་' (Tibetan, सुं, Sanskrit Devanagari, sum, Sanskrit Romanization, essence) with vermilion, and draw various vajras on the outside. Cover the pit with the stone slab face down, with the letterhead facing south, and level the work area with clean soil. Place a blessed tsa-tsa or any vajra on top. In that place or in one's own practice room, generate refuge and bodhicitta like a rocky fortress, meditate on the four immeasurables, and recite the Svabhava mantra. From emptiness, from 'པཾ་' (Tibetan, वं, Sanskrit Devanagari, vaṃ, Sanskrit Romanization, vam, water seed syllable) arises a lotus, from 'རཾ་' (Tibetan, रं, Sanskrit Devanagari, raṃ, Sanskrit Romanization, ram, fire seed syllable) arises a sun disc, and on the sun disc, a dark blue 'ཧཱུྃ་' (Tibetan, हूँ, Sanskrit Devanagari, hūṃ, Sanskrit Romanization, hum, seed syllable) emits light, accomplishing the two benefits, then gathers back, completely transforming into oneself as the deity Glorious Black Vajra Great One, the Lord of the Tent, with a body color of dark blue, large and blazing, one face and two arms, the right hand waving a human skin drum, and the left hand holding a leather bag filled with jewels, with three red and round eyes. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ང་
