NKL319 Teachings of Ngawang Kunga Lodro: The Rain-Invoking Accomplishment Cloud with the Eight Great Nagas Surrounding the Glorious Great Black Vajra. The Rain-Invoking Accomplishment Cloud with the Eight Great Nagas Surrounding the Glorious Great Black Vajra. The Rain-Invoking Accomplishment Cloud with the Eight Great Nagas Surrounding the Glorious Great Black Vajra. Namo Guru Shri Mahakalaya (Tibetan: ན་མོ་གུ་རུ་ཤྲཱི་མ་ཧཱ་ཀཱ་ལ་ཡ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: नमः गुरु श्री महाकालया, Sanskrit Romanization: namaḥ guru śrī mahākālāya, Literal Chinese meaning: Homage to Guru, Auspicious, Great Black One). Whose form is as black as the clouds at the end of time, Whose speech proclaims the sound of 'Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Seed syllable)' 'Phat (Tibetan: ཕཊ, Sanskrit Devanagari: फट, Sanskrit Romanization: phaṭ, Literal Chinese meaning: Demolish)', Whose mind is the play of bliss and emptiness of all phenomena. Guru Mahakala বিজaya (Tibetan: གུ་རུ་མ་ཧཱ་ཀཱ་ལ་བི་ཛ་ཡ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: गुरु महाकाल विजय, Sanskrit Romanization: guru mahākāla vijaya, Literal Chinese meaning: Guru, Great Black One, Victory). Relying on whom, the four activities are accomplished, The collections of activities and instructions are inconceivable. Here, for the sake of relieving all beings from poverty, I write the rain-invoking instruction, the cloud of accomplishment. Here, the instruction for invoking rain through the Glorious Great Black Vajra, the Lord of the Tent, surrounded by the Eight Great Nagas: The yogi who is suitable for practice and accomplishment, and who possesses the mind of benefiting others and bodhicitta, is the person who has received the complete instructions of this cycle. At a spring where the nagas are known to reside, or in a secluded and agreeable place such as one's own hermitage, in front of the blessed images or statues of the lama, yidam, dakini, and dharma protectors, offer tormas, offerings, and fulfillment tormas according to one's own practice, without the smell of red alcohol except for a small amount of amrita pills. If possible, prepare the three white substances, the three sweet substances, and other substances common to the lower tantras, or even if not, arrange the offerings beautifully and adorned with cleanliness. To the west of that place, spread white, unblemished silk or other materials on top of which spread barley, rice, wheat, etc. On top of white stones, place a clay bowl or copper bowl that is not stained with red alcohol, and pour clean water into it, with a drop of red cow's milk or white sheep's milk. Add any of the naga medicines from the Lion's Roar Liberation scripture, either mixed, in pill form, or in powder form. It is said that the dough should be shaped into a frog, but to avoid water damage, shape the frog out of butter, and insert the naga medicine into its belly, placing it in the center of the milk water with its head facing oneself. Cover it with a tombstone or a stone slab smeared with saffron, and in the center of it, draw an eight-petaled lotus with vermilion, and place the blessed image of the Protector in the center. In front of the image, offer the water deity Varuna (Tibetan: ཆུ་བདག་ཝ་རུ་ཎ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: वरुण, Sanskrit Romanization: varuṇa, Literal Chinese meaning: Lord of Water). On the eight petals, place the forms of the eight great nagas. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
