That is, pleasing colors of various kinds, sounds of various kinds, smells of various kinds, tastes of various kinds, and touches of various kinds, like clouds gathering in the ten directions, spontaneously accomplished by nature, are a sign that all desires and pleasures appear as ornaments of play. Some people mixing pleasing and displeasing things is unreasonable, because at this time there is no impurity in the Buddha's self-appearance. The palace and all the decorations inside and outside are not made of coarse matter and are clear, so one does not obstruct the other, the inside and outside are transparent and bright, possessing ornaments, the arrangement is beautiful, the details are inexhaustible to think about, gently stretched, and gorgeously decorated, symbolizing that the nature of the mind is inherently bright and has immeasurable merits. The four gates of liberation from the obstacles of clinging to things and characteristics, emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, and non-action, are a symbol of entering the spontaneously accomplished palace of Samantabhadra, so there are door rings decorated with three gates in the four directions. All dharmas are inherently without self-nature, which is emptiness. The absence of self-nature at the time of appearance is signlessness. The absence of negation, establishment, acceptance, and rejection is wishlessness. Having realized the self-nature of these, the mind itself is without action, which is non-action. If non-action is divided, there are two: inherently luminous, and its self-nature, the spontaneously accomplished immeasurable four. The first is that the nature of mind is originally pure and luminous, as the Eight Thousand Verses say: The mind has no mind, the nature of mind is luminous. Thus, when entering samadhi in the grove of tree liberation, the Tathagata said: Profound and peaceful, free from elaboration, luminous and unconditioned dharma, I have now attained it like nectar. Showing it to anyone will not be understood, so I do not speak and stay alone in the forest. Thus, the Ornament of Clear Realization says: In this there is nothing to be removed, nor is there anything to be established, in the true nature, see truly.

“Seeing me liberates.” Thus it is. The second is: May all sentient beings who lack happiness meet with happiness, this is loving-kindness. May all sentient beings who are tormented by suffering be free from it, this is compassion. May all sentient beings who possess happiness never be separated from it, this is joy. May all sentient beings who possess attachment and aversion be free from all attachment and aversion, near and far, and abide in equanimity, this is equanimity. These four immeasurables arise naturally from the state of compassion that is without object and without characteristics. As stated in the Ornament of the Sutras: "Having love for all sentient beings, having the thought of meeting and parting, having the thought of not separating, I pay homage to you who think of benefit and happiness." Thus it is. Furthermore, the four immeasurables are symbolized by four doors, and the three liberations are symbolized by the door frames. Each door frame is adorned with three sets of door ornaments. Because the appearance of the inner form has not ceased, the appearance of the outer form is viewed as empty illusion, and the clinging to the truth of appearance is reversed, this is the liberation of the colored viewing form. Because the inner form is not conceived, the outer form is viewed, and liberation from the clinging to the truth of inner and outer is achieved, this is the liberation of the non-colored viewing form. Viewing everything as the same taste of emptiness, liberation from all grasping is achieved, this is the liberation of suffering. Seeing the meaning of mind itself as like the sky, this is the liberation of the sphere of infinite space. Realizing that everything is the play of mind and wisdom, this is the liberation of the sphere of infinite consciousness. Because there is no grasping or grasper anywhere, this is the liberation of the sphere of nothingness. Because all realms of elaboration and characteristics are pacified, this is the liberation of the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception. Because there is never any clinging to all phenomena such as samsara and nirvana, this is the liberation of cessation. Thus, to symbolize the perfection of the qualities of the eight liberations, two pillars are erected on each of the outer sides of the four doors, for a total of four pillars supporting the lintel. Above the lintel are four vajra beams, and above the beams are four tiers of steps, possessing eight silk ribbons. At the base of the precious umbrella, the Dharma wheel and two deer are turning, along with a parasol, victory banner, celestial garments, silk streamers, and four flags on each side.
