From then on, abide, and all will be realized as emptiness, without interval, like the sky. (End of "Hundred and Twenty-Sixth Key Instructions") Then, the meditation method like a clear mirror: The body posture and pulse points are the same as before, without focusing on emptiness, but meditating clearly, relaxed, and openly in the state of self-illuminating, non-grasping appearance. In this way, the realization of appearing without grasping, without taxation, will arise. (End of "Hundred and Twenty-Seventh Key Instructions") Then, the arising meditation method like waves: The body and pulse positions are the same as before, especially focusing on the thoughts and discriminations arising from the clarity of awareness. In this way, the liberation of non-attachment without reliance, like waves dissolving into water, will arise. (End of "Hundred and Twenty-Eighth Key Instructions") Then, the meditation of the supreme faculty: Like the nature of an uninterrupted river, like the bed of a clear river, awareness is realized as the Dharmakaya, therefore arising and merging both appear as the play of Dharma nature, without the need to accept or reject, without abandoning confusion and obstacles, everything appears as the clarity of realization, just as when going to the precious golden continent, ordinary mud and stones cannot be found. Everything that appears in the mind appears as self-born wisdom, therefore attachment and discrimination are all primordially liberated, never exceeding the realm of Samantabhadra. Everything that appears on the object appears as the self-nature of emptiness, therefore the grasper and discrimination are all primordially liberated, never exceeding the vast space of Samantabhadri. All phenomena that regard object and mind as different are extinguished in the indivisible Great Perfection Dharmadhatu, without inside and outside, appearing as the space of wisdom, without up and down, equal to the vast openness, without direction and boundary, appearing as self-born wisdom, without corner and bias, appearing as the play of Dharma nature, without self and other, arriving at the realm of reality, without place and time, arriving at the primordial space, the yogi who exhausts the mind, in the realm of exhausting phenomena, even thinking is a moment of bliss. Recognize this realization as uninterrupted, expose awareness nakedly, the awareness that abides empty, relaxed, and naked, is determined in the unadorned natural state, and begin to practice. (End of "Hundred and Twenty-Ninth Key Instructions") Then, the explanation of the difference branches of skillful means: Showing the companions and exercises of the first two meditation methods, finally only becoming a step.

Here, regarding the union of calm abiding and insight, there are four ways to practice. First, in the first of these, there are two aspects: cultivating calm abiding and enhancing its effectiveness. In the first of these, there are two objects of focus: those with and without appearances. Regarding focusing the mind on the object without appearance, the external object of focus is a thangka or similar object with appearance, as previously mentioned. The internal object with appearance is that when awareness is too scattered and cannot remain still, visualize a white lotus or vajra cross, etc., within the heart, with its roots extending downwards, from the bottom up to the golden ground of the Great Powerful One, thus stabilizing awareness. When the mind is held and gathered into the heart, and one meditates single-pointedly, non-conceptualization will arise. Guidance Verse One Hundred and Thirty. Then, regarding focusing on the object without appearance, it is to rest in a state of non-intentionality. That is, dissolving external and internal objects, being in a state like emptiness like the sky, or meditating on the face and hands of a deity, so that other thoughts dissolve into it. One should also learn to rest that itself in an unclear state. Calm abiding without an object will arise. This appears similar but is actually a profound and certain key point. Guidance Verse One Hundred and Thirty-One. Then, to enhance effectiveness, one should walk and sit a little, and observe the previous state. Mix a little speech and thought, and observe calm abiding, and it will become familiar and gradually improve. If one is lax, the body and mind will be distracted and fall into excitement, and then when one meditates, it will become supremely clear. Guidance Verse One Hundred and Thirty-Two. Then, regarding the arising of insight and enhancing its effectiveness, first, in the first of these, there are two aspects: appearance and emptiness. Appearance is: like this, as the object of phenomena, these appearances exist like illusions. Thinking that it is like a dream, whatever appears, one should meditate that whatever appears is without true existence. However, there is a great difference between being like an illusion and thinking that it exists in an illusion. Although it has been taught like this before, here it should be applied to actual meditation. Guidance Verse One Hundred and Thirty-Three. Then, regarding training in emptiness, from the time when things appear, the more one looks, the more empty and without trace one sees, and without intentionality, one rests in a state like the sky. Previously, it was the emptiness of analysis and examination, but here, the emptiness of self-arising encounter is shown, so there is a great difference. Guidance Verse One Hundred and Thirty-Four. Then
