Those who have passed away and entered nirvana have not become a refuge for us who are alive. Thinking about how I wander endlessly in samsara due to karma, I should seize the path of liberation with this lifetime. This life is also like a flash, as short as something borrowed, contemplating impermanence, one should strive to practice the Dharma from the heart. As it says in the Bodhisattvacaryāvatāra: If I do not strive from today, I will go to lower and lower realms. Countless Buddhas who benefit all sentient beings have passed away, but due to my own faults, I have not become a place for their taming. If I continue to do so, again and again, it will be the same. I will experience suffering such as bad destinies, sickness, death, cutting, and dissection. Furthermore, as it says in the Abhisamayalankara: Even if the king of gods pours down rain, bad seeds do not sprout such fruit. Although the Buddhas have come, those without fortune do not taste goodness. Two, showing the benefits: Like this, if you meditate on impermanence and death day and night, although the accumulation of qualities is immeasurable, it can be summarized briefly. By this, the Dharma of benefit and happiness in this life and the next will be accomplished, and one will strive to practice with fierce diligence, abandon attachment to this life, and destroy the illusion of self-grasping. In short, all good qualities will be accomplished, all faults will be completely eliminated, and it is the root of sacred liberation. The root of all Dharmas lies in adjusting the understanding of impermanence. That is to say, one will surely die, one will surely die now, and it is uncertain whether there will be time to stay tomorrow. When this strong feeling arises in the heart, diligence in the Dharma will also burn like a flame, and naturally one will be able to grasp the path that is beneficial to this life and the next. Because one sees that the phenomena of this life cannot be permanent, one's mind will not become attached. Arguing, fighting, holding grudges, anger, harming others, and all harm will also be naturally abandoned. Because there is no time to generate arrogance and self-grasping, one will generate a unique thought, be harmonious and pleasant with everyone, and for all things such as wealth, retinue, relatives, etc., because one knows that they are all impermanent, one will not generate attachment to them. For them, whether others bring harm or benefit, bring happiness or suffering, one will not generate attachment or hatred. Even if they die, separate, or disappear, one will not generate unpleasant sadness. Wherever one resides,
