It is not in other places. For example, just as one eliminates alcohol sickness with alcohol, eliminates poison with poison, and cuts iron with iron, afflictions themselves are liberated by themselves, hence they are called self-liberation. There are three reasons for establishing self-liberation: it is established by reason, it is established by scripture, and it is established by logic. It is established by reason, through the reason of the nature of reality. Since all liberation is self-liberation, it is established as not being like being liberated by others. If it were by others, then it would be unreasonable for one thing to appear as different forms, because that very consciousness is substantially contradictory to others. Just as the characteristics of the first thing are determined, self-liberation is reasonable. It is established by scripture, as it says in the Mind Series: "Liberation is self-arisen, not from others." Thus it is said. It is established by logic, the great self-liberation is accomplished and justified by irrefutable logic. Thus, appearance is self-liberated, because it does not depend on other antidotes. The way of liberation is: there is no other than oneself liberating oneself. In other texts it is also said that those with desire are liberated by making desire the path. Appearance itself is liberated from the level of appearance, and there is no other cause or condition for liberation other than appearance. It is liberated in itself, therefore there is no support for existence, no basis. The very nature of mind without a basis, apart from itself, has no place to return. There is no place to liberate, therefore it has not experienced birth. There is no place from where it came, because that itself is not a separate dharma, so it is called self-liberation. For example, like a snake's knot that unravels without anyone untying it. Third, relying on the key points of direct liberation and seeing liberation, without relying on lineage and scripture to demonstrate, that is, liberation through merely seeing directly, is like the meeting of mother and child liberating. Appearance itself is not transformed by the mind, not analyzed by appearance, but is allowed to remain, therefore it is liberated in self-purification. Direct liberation and seeing liberation have four aspects: the understanding of direct liberation, the reasons for establishing direct liberation, the way of liberation, and the metaphor. The understanding of direct liberation is: liberation through merely seeing directly, that is, liberation in the first moment, merely through seeing, hearing, or knowing oneself. For this, the nature of reality is manifest.

Calculated. There are three reasons for establishing direct liberation: reason, scripture, and logic. Reason is justified by not focusing on anything entrusted or abandoned. Appearance is liberated by merely appearing on the appearance, and consciousness is liberated by merely moving on the movement. By the key of emptiness itself, seeing form directly, relying on the mere thought that it is form, it is liberated by itself. Similarly, with sound and so on. How do you know it is liberated? By seeing form, the elaboration of what is not form is cut off. By placing it directly, it is liberated, and no consciousness arises to enter into another. Scripture is justified by the Golden Essence Tantra, which says: "With the view of great direct liberation, both Buddhas and sentient beings are liberated." etc. Logic is justified by the logic of self-purification apart from sides. Thus, appearance is direct liberation. By placing it directly, it is liberated in the place where it is placed, and disappears in the place of liberation. The way of liberation is that by practicing on a fragment of reality, the fragment is liberated in the direct place, without going anywhere, without coming from anywhere, without going anywhere, and without changing while staying anywhere. By practicing on the general aspect of reality, all appearances become direct liberation. The example is like an impartial person going to a temple, seeing without bias. Fourth, relying on the key of liberation from extremes and detachment, not clinging to any key of dependence, because it is liberated from one extreme, it does not abide in two, and because it is liberated from two, it does not abide in one. Similarly, the four possibilities of both and not both are stopped, and it is called liberation. There are three aspects to liberation from extremes and detachment: the meaning of liberation from extremes, the reason for establishing liberation from extremes, and the way of liberation, etc. The meaning of liberation from extremes is not clinging to any extreme of existence, non-existence, appearance, or emptiness, and transcending the calculation of whether this is this or not in meaning. There are three reasons for establishing liberation from extremes: reason, scripture, and logic. Reason is justified by the reason of self-nature without dependence. Because it is not dependent on anything, it is free from extremes, so it does not abide in any extreme. Therefore, it is called the view of non-dependence on the middle without extremes. Scripture is justified by the Great
