Devoid of words, because it is not established in the nature of anything, therefore words do not harm it. Thus it is said. Third, in general, showing the way the plan is established, the original primordial realm has three: essence, nature, and compassion. Three: essence, nature, and self. Primordial purity itself and spontaneous accomplishment. One essence, if divided by opposites, abides in eight. From its essence, when the base appearance arises, from the aspect of being the basis of both liberation and delusion, it is called the common basis. Because it is the basis of liberation, it is the basis of liberation. Because it is the basis of delusion for sentient beings, it is called the basis of delusion. The one essence of the base appearance, if the parts of liberation and delusion are distinguished, abides in three. As it is said in the Garland of Pearls: Essence, nature, and compassion, essence, nature, and great self. Primordial purity itself and spontaneous accomplishment, the common basis and the basis of delusion. Thus it is said. In its extensive explanation, it says: Essence is primordial purity, devoid of the basis of expression. Nature is spontaneous accomplishment, complete in whatever appears. Compassion is all-pervasive, self-arising. Essence arises from force. Nature is uncreated, all-appearing. Self is all-pervasive and encompassing. Primordial purity is self-purified of defilements. Because spontaneous accomplishment arises in various ways, the common basis appears to be established. Thus it is said. These are also important essential points of the base, so they should be realized with the eye of wisdom. Second, specifically explaining the primordial basis of primordial purity, there are three: the manner of abiding of the essence, extensively explaining its nature, and from the aspect of reversing the basis of delusion. The first is the wisdom of self-arising awareness, the dharmakaya of primordial emptiness, the realm of ultimate truth, the abiding of the nature of reality, the clear light. Samsara and nirvana, happiness and suffering, existence and non-existence, yes and no, liberation and delusion, awareness and non-awareness, etc., are not established in anything. As it is said in the Garland of Pearls: In the primordial purity of the very beginning, even delusion cannot be spoken of. Likewise, what is non-delusion? Therefore, delusion has never existed. Thus it is said. In the Secret Letterless Tantra, it says: For self-arising wisdom, there is no object to be used. There is no past. There is no future. There is nothing that appears in the present. There is no karma. There are no habitual tendencies. There is no ignorance. There is no mind. There is no intellect. There is no wisdom. There is no samsara. There is no nirvana. Even awareness itself

It is not. There is nothing that appears as wisdom. That is, it is pure from the beginning (ka nas dag pa), pure from the first (dang po nas dag pa), pure from the origin (thog ma nas dag pa), pure from the beginning (ye nas dag pa), and pure from the primordial (gdod ma nas dag pa). As it is said in the Garland of Pearls (Mu tig phreng ba): When 'Ka' (ཀ་,Ka,क,ka,Ka) first arises, the number of pure and stainless ends. Secondly, there are two ways to explain its nature in detail: as having two wisdoms and as having three wisdoms. The first is: Because rigpa (awareness) has no substance, it relies on the inseparability of rigpa and emptiness, and the wisdom of the essence, which is pure from the beginning, is free from conceptualization, and the wisdom of self-arisen nature abides in the clear essence of primordial radiance. As it is said in the Six Spaces (klong drug pa): The essence itself is pure from the beginning, and the nature is spontaneously accomplished. In terms of essence, it transcends the extremes of existence and non-existence, and in terms of nature, it abides only in the aspect of manifestation. These two are inseparable in their own essence, liberated from extremes, and abide in the Great Perfection. As it is said in Self-Liberation of Awareness (rig pa rang grol): The stains of the four extremes are naturally purified. In the explanation of the three wisdoms, there are two parts: the essence is briefly indicated, and the nature is explained in detail. The first is: As it is said in Self-Arisen (rang shar): That ground of great primordial purity also possesses the three: essence, nature, and compassion. And as it is said in Dissolution (thal 'gyur): Since the nature of phenomena, emptiness, pervades all, not abiding in samsara and nirvana, wisdom abides in its own essence, inseparable in the manner of the three. And as it is said in the Six Spaces (klong drug pa): Wisdom itself, in three ways, verbally indicates the distinctions of the ground. And as it is said in The Mirror of the Heart of Vajrasattva (rdo rje sems dpa' snying gi me long): Know that all the dharmas of the ground are the three: essence, nature, and compassion. Secondly, there are three ways in which the three, essence, nature, and compassion, abide: According to the view of this unsurpassed secret, the Dharmakaya abides in the form of the essence that is pure from the beginning, so the three kayas abide in the aspect of manifestation without aggregation or separation, but there is not even a little bit of the faces and hands that have characteristics and distinctions. Since the nature abides as the clarity of the five lights, the three radiances are self-clear from the beginning, but there are no colors or distinctions that are separately established. Since compassion abides as the wisdom of awareness, the aspect of knowing is clear and uninterrupted, but there is no appearance of the aspect of action and agent, object and subject. As it is said in Dissolution (thal 'gyur): The original essence, nature, and compassion abide in three ways. Moreover, since the essence abides as the Dharmakaya,
