This would become an unsuitable basis for the system, because it says in it: Having all the promises, The teacher himself previously said, All of this is just an attraction of direction, In order to prove that everything is true, It will become a fault without end. Summary of meaning: Transcending existence and non-existence, permanence and annihilation, there is no promise whatsoever, Any symbol is just symbolically shown from one direction. Sixth, regarding the view that the basis is diverse, there are also three aspects: Expressing the view: The nature spontaneously arises everywhere, The way it appears is diverse. That is its meaning. Refutation: Because the basis is diverse, it will become multiple, And because it is not suitable as a basis for purification and liberation, even if you try, it is futile, And because the multiple is infinite and endless, it will become a fault of not finding certainty and understanding, And just as the way things appear changes, the basis will also become changing, And if it changes, it is not suitable as a basis, Just as many thoughts flow in an instant, The basis will become chaotic and afflicted, Because it says in it: The teacher previously said it was variegated, This is also unsuitable from some aspects, Whatever the nature of something is, that is how it appears, The results are different but the meaning is the same, Because it is weakened by the sound of multitude. Summary of meaning: Here, it is not considered that way, Because the nature is not established in anything, so it is separated from the basis of names, Self-nature is liberated from appearance, so it is separated from symbols, The reality is liberated from elaboration, so it is separated from characteristics, Because the designation of the three, name, symbol, and basis, cannot be found, even though various plans do not cease, the way of being is beyond faults. By following the path, showing the primordially pure, flawless self-view as three: Identifying the nature of primordial purity, Eliminating the faults of debate in it, Generally showing the way the plans descend. First, The primordial purity of the original basis is the great transcendence of speech, thought, and expression, transcending the extremes of existence and non-existence, The nature is pure from the beginning, so it is separated from the extreme of existence and permanence, and it is not established as a thing and a characteristic, Self-nature is spontaneously accomplished, so it transcends the extreme of non-existence and annihilation, it is the pure Dharma-nature of luminosity and emptiness, The self-nature, primordial Buddha, The unchanging intention of the Dharmakaya, Not established in either samsara or nirvana, but the great wisdom of original emptiness, self-arisen, existing like the sky from the very beginning, as it says in the String of Pearls: Nature

Oh, since the very nature is primordially pure, in its very nature it is spontaneously accomplished. It transcends earth, directions, and categories; there is no existence, non-existence, or visibility. It is not the domain of sound or measure; there is no one, two, or counting. It is accomplished by abiding in the great emptiness. Thus it is said. Moreover, from the "Six Spaces": The nature of reality, free from elaboration, is primordially pure, the basis of the essence of one's own face, utterly pure. It is devoid of words and letters; it cannot be definitively established by expression. It is free from all superimpositions and conceptual constructs; there is no grasping or grasper. There are no Buddhas and no sentient beings; there is no Dharma and no concept of Dharma. There is nothing that is not, nothing that is not, nothing at all. In such an essence of nothingness, if we tentatively establish it with words, in the very nature, in the primordially pure, it is spontaneously accomplished in its very nature. Thus it is said. Secondly, there are two: debate and response. The debate is: If the very nature is primordially pure, then since the defilements are completely exhausted, it is unreasonable for sentient beings to wander in samsara. If the very nature is spontaneously accomplished, then since the result is spontaneously accomplished, from the beginning, without effort, all sentient beings should be liberated. The response is: Since they have been liberated from the beginning, the defilements do not need to be purified again, and there is no self-nature of wandering and liberation. Like liberation and wandering in a dream, it is merely the play of awareness. Since it is accomplished at the very moment of appearance, there is no fault in being primordially pure. Since it is spontaneously accomplished, from the beginning, the Dharmakaya and the wisdom nature are completely pure and perfect. However, like waking from sleep, from the aspect of sudden freedom from defilements, it has already manifested in that primordial ground, so there is no fault. As it is taught: From that very text: Since the very nature is primordially pure, it is unreasonable for sentient beings to wander in samsara, since the defilements of ignorance are completely exhausted. The teacher spoke of the great Bodhisattva. Since the very nature is spontaneously accomplished, it appears as unobstructed play. The Bodhisattva himself again asked: Since the very nature is spontaneously accomplished, these sentient beings should be self-liberated, since it is spontaneously accomplished from the beginning. The Buddha said: These sentient beings are primordially pure in their very nature, and all liberated phenomena are also play. The Bodhisattva again asked: Since the very nature is primordially pure, spontaneous accomplishment also becomes meaningless. Or, since it is spontaneously accomplished, primordial purity will not exist. The teacher said: In the way of abiding, there are no words to express, the realm of expression
