By means of (wisdom), one can understand the meaning in an instant. The key point of wisdom is to abide constantly in that (wisdom) itself, day and night. Do not, even for a moment, be distracted or separated by other thoughts. So, this wisdom of the three key points, is it that others cannot see it except for this (wisdom) itself? Yogis who hold other views and practices, if they have not pointed out this (wisdom) itself, cannot see it no matter how they investigate. If this sacred instruction is pointed out, the cows are filled with milk all over their bodies. When the wise draw from the udders, milk will flow forth. Clearly, through the key points of the body, constantly familiar, one can see (wisdom) without any difference. For butchers, prostitutes, and sinners, pointing out this (wisdom) will lead to liberation. Even Hearers, Solitary Buddhas, and Bodhisattvas, even if they have purified their obscurations, if they do not have confidence in these three key points, they will not be able to see even a mote of dust. What need is there to mention others? Therefore, familiarity and method are most important. Thus it is said. In the Treasury of Precious Words and Meanings, the instruction on the key points of the place, that is, the extensive explanation of the seventh Vajra place (chakra). Then, to indicate the method of practicing true wisdom, there are three points: by whom to practice, that is, the order of individuals; how to ripen, that is, the order of empowerment; the order of instructions for complete liberation. The first point also has three points: the nature of the teacher who indicates, the nature of the student who is indicated, and the determination of how to rely on them in common. In the first point, there are two aspects, acceptance and rejection. From the instruction to rely on a true teacher, identifying their characteristics is: In general, being skilled in the key points of all vehicles and having great compassion; being skilled in the meaning of secret mantra and having perfected the river of empowerment; abiding in vows and commitments and having signs of accomplishment in the four branches of recitation and practice; In particular, having mastery over the meaning of the Great Perfection of intrinsic nature, thereby being able to freely take others under one's care, that is, being knowledgeable and skilled in the view, thereby obtaining the warmth of the direct perception of reality; being familiar and skilled in meditation, thereby constantly not deviating from reality; being skilled in non-dual conduct, thereby the object and subject and conceptual thoughts gradually diminish, without acceptance or rejection; being skilled in the ultimate result, thereby having any of the three degrees of liberation, and hope and fear and effort have disappeared, thereby being broad-minded and having inner peace. In the Ornament of Clear Realization, it says: A teacher with complete characteristics is.

Like the source of all virtues, it is the foundation for complete enlightenment. Thus it is said. In Rangshar it says: The Vajra meaningful teacher, With a good nature and skilled in teaching, having received empowerment and applying the meaning of secret mantras. Knowing all outer and inner activities, inseparable from the Yidam deity, without straying from Samadhi, possessing the meaning of Dzogchen instructions, skilled in the secret tantras of secret mantras, performing all outer and inner activities, not deviating from the meaning of the view, abandoning outer and inner secret activities, like a precious jewel of virtue, enjoying an inexhaustible treasure. Thus it is said. In the Vajrasattva Heart Mirror it says: Vast and skilled in all tantras and philosophical systems, With a good nature and skilled in the view of realization. King of secret mantras, Vajra Ali Ka. Thus it is said. In terms of classification, Rangshar says: The teacher also has four meanings, namely common, guiding, Samaya empowerment, and the teacher of oral transmission. Although it is said to be four, here it is condensed into two, as it says in Thalgyur: Root and branch, two Lamas. Thus it is said. Empowerment, explaining the tantra, giving instructions, is called the root Lama. Anyone who has one or two of these is called a branch Lama. Even if there are two root Lamas, the one whose instructions are now being practiced is the most important, so it is called the one with a foundation. The second type of Lama to be abandoned is one who does not possess those perfect qualities, and who breaks vows and Samayas, is ignorant but arrogant, teaches about worldly affairs and trivial matters, and binds oneself to this, causing the disciple's eye of wisdom to be blinded, and losing the path to liberation. Rangshar says: The ignorant and arrogant, following foolish words, not considering the meaning of secret mantras, arrogant words that cut off the kindness of others, entering the wrong path, not seeing the mandala of empowerment, becoming a breaker of Samayas, unable to answer questions, little learning but great arrogance Is an unexamined teacher, the demon of the disciple. Not a teacher who teaches secret mantras, unable to teach Dzogchen Ati, one should not associate with them. Thus it is said. In the Vajrasattva Heart Mirror it says: If the teacher is not qualified, it is like the language of a monkey, entering the wrong path, practicing broken secret mantras.
