, and the clear light is visible through the guru's instructions, so it is not desired to be a secret that no one can see; the essence is emptiness and clarity, without limits, so it does not combine with things like thumbs and dharma; because there is no thing and no sign, so it is not considered that the size of the body is related to the size and goodness of the essence, etc., there are very many differences. Although what the heretics say is completely different from the essence of the Buddha, they are confused because only the name or the expression of words is similar, and we think you are stupid, just like when the king's sword was lost before, a poor man dreamed of a sword in his dream, and after waking up, he shouted sword, and competed for the sword, because he only saw the name and did not see the substance, so it is like distinguishing without seeing the sword. Also, in that sutra, it is said that foolish people all say that there is a self, which is like a poor man sleeping in someone else's house, and after waking up, shouting sword sword. If you ask the hearers and solitary Buddhas, what is the characteristic of the so-called self? Some of them say that they are attached to the self, and the so-called self has a characteristic as big as a thumb. Some say it's as big as a millet. Some say it's as big as a sesame seed. Some say that the characteristic of self dwells in the heart, burning and shining like the sun. In this way, each ordinary person does not understand the characteristic of the so-called self, just as foolish people do not recognize that good sword. The Bodhisattva thus teaches the characteristic of the so-called self, and foolish people do not understand, so they divide into various differences and cling to the characteristic of the so-called self, just like if you ask what the shape of the sword is, and answer that it is like a horn. In this way, inferior fools constantly generate evil views, and in order to cut off such evil views, the Tathagata teaches no-self, for example, the king says to the ministers, there is no such sword in my treasury. Son of the lineage, the Tathagata thus teaches the so-called self, which is the Buddha-nature.

Thus, the Buddha-nature is like a very clear and pure sword in the Dharma taught by the Buddha. Third, there are three ways to generate joy with special certainty: It is also appropriate to rejoice that the meaning that cannot be seen unless taught by a truly virtuous spiritual friend is obtained from the sublime lama. It is also appropriate to rejoice that even a bodhisattva who abides on the ground will become a place difficult to realize, let alone seeing from this side, because it is the secret vajra place of the Buddha alone. If taught by a true lama, it is actually seen, and it is also known that joy can be generated because self-appearance naturally appears in the bardo. The first is: Again, in the same sutra, it says: Son of good family, all sentient beings are the same, and if they do not attend to and respect virtuous spiritual friends, they will not be able to see the Buddha-nature even if they have it. The second is from the Noble Nirvana Sutra: Son of good family, for example, a blind person went to see some experienced doctors in order to cure his eyes. The doctor took a golden knife, cut open the cataract of the eye, and then held up one finger to show him, but the blind man said he could not see it. If he showed him two or three fingers, he would say that he could see a little bit. Son of good family, if this Great Nirvana Sutra is not spoken, then even bodhisattvas who have immeasurable perfections of paramitas and abide on the ten bhumis will not see the Buddha-nature, just like that blind man. After the Tathagata speaks, they will be able to see a little bit. The bodhisattvas and great beings, having seen it in that way, say this: It is very wonderful! Bhagavan, we have been wandering in samsara for countless kalpas, and have been completely gathered by non-self. Son of good family, in this way, even a bodhisattva who abides on the ten bhumis cannot clearly see the Buddha-nature, let alone a shravaka or a pratyekabuddha, it goes without saying. Thus it is extensively taught. The third is: From the Great Lion's Strength Perfection Tantra: In the own body of all sentient beings, the appearance of pure wisdom
