Sa. First, the ground appearance is confused from the part of not knowing its own nature. It is said in the reductio ad absurdum: "Because one is not known, it is originally pure. Because the nature of reality is not known, it is taken as the cause and the same kind." "The support of the object is color, the cause and condition of the two subtle parts, the object of cyclic existence." So it is said. How does it appear? When the ground appears, the ability of compassion, knowing and clear, becomes the wisdom that can observe the object and appears spontaneously. This depends on not knowing its own nature and appears in accordance with the three ignorances. The ignorance of the sole nature of the cause, born as knowledge, is ignorance. "Co-emergent ignorance, not knowing its own nature, that and the knowledge are co-emergent. Conceptual ignorance, observing the self-appearance as other, a total of three kinds. Those three, on one knowledge, have different counter-entities, the one who has the same essence, when observing the self-appearance, the ground essence, self-nature, compassion, and the way the ground appearance spontaneously accomplishes, on the appearance, do not know the nature of the ground and the ground appearance, and are confused by the difference of grasping as other. That is also because of the three ignorances of cause, and the four conditions, the impure part of the object, on the appearance, when knowledge is confused with the grasper and the grasped, the six consciousnesses grasp without interruption and appear, so the six afflictions appear in a latent way, binding awareness, and being confused with the appearance of the six objects is: "It is said in the Lamp Illuminating: From the ground where it abides, the cause and the seed of confusion are, because the clear part is lost outward, knowledge is clear and clear awareness, ignorance is among the three, only the consciousness moves outward to the appearance part, with the thought that the object is grasped as self, on the ground and the appearance part of the ground, the ground and the ground knowledge are confused with the difference, from the cause of confusion and the object conditions meet, because the four conditions are impure, the clear part of various appearances is interrupted, because the six consciousnesses grasp without interruption, the six afflictions bind me, the six objects appear separately. Thus, I grasp on the object." So it is said. The six objects are form, sound, smell, taste, touch, and dharma. The six afflictions are ignorance, desire, hatred, delusion, pride, and jealousy. "That ignorance pervades all five poisons, and delusion is a part of the five poisons, so they are explained separately. If ignorance is divided, there is cause.

The three have been explained, and the six aspects of the essence are: From the Rangshar it says, ignorance is as follows: the ignorance of the root mind, the ignorance of the deluded object, the ignorance of the base of delusion, the ignorance of clinging to concepts, the ignorance of contrived paths, and the ignorance of unknowing delusion. Thus, six types of ignorance arise, and one does not see one's own appearance. It also says, "They also arise as six types of delusion in their respective aspects, so they are explained separately." The six minds are: Again, from this arises the six clinging minds. The mind that corresponds similarly to ignorance, the mind of the consciousness of mind, the mind that seeks everywhere, the mind that determines, the mind that is very coarse, and the mind that establishes definitively. These also, in order, are: the mind accompanied by movement, self-awareness through consciousness, grasping objects, definitely grasping objects, being distracted by objects, coarse afflictions, and focusing inwardly on one object, which is the delusion of the six aspects. Secondly, there are two ways to explain the expansion of self-nature: explaining the aspect of the essence of delusion and the aspect of the conditions of appearance in detail. The first is that the common basis of delusion is that when phenomena appear, awareness itself is deluded by the impurity of not knowing its own face, so the knowable awareness itself, which is without impurity, also becomes impure, and is enveloped in the expanse of mind. The awareness of the essence of original purity is defiled by concepts, bound by the six minds, and the body is trapped in the net of indivisible particles, and the clear light is stained with habitual patterns. Furthermore, not knowing that the basis of appearance arises from itself is the condition of the cause. That which appears as an object is the condition of the object. Grasping at self and what belongs to self is the condition of the possessor. The delusion of these three simultaneous conditions is the immediate condition. As it says in the String of Pearls: The common basis of delusion is called ignorance, because it is defiled by ignorance. The knowable itself also appears as impurity, because memories and thoughts arise in the mind. The essence itself is defiled by concepts, because the clinging of the six minds does not cease. The Dharmakaya itself is also bound by what is grasped, because it is combined with indivisible particles. The clear light itself is also stained with habitual patterns, because the object of the four conditions is impure. Appearance itself appears as many. Thus it is said. Furthermore, the cause of delusion is ignorance, the condition is the appearance of objects to consciousness, and the basis appears as the basis of consciousness.
